The Academy of Fine Arts is located on the north side of the Humanities Park of the New Campus of Zhengzhou University in Zhengzhou High-tech Zone.
Before 1994, it was the former Art Teaching and Research Office of Zhengzhou University. It later joined the Chinese Department in 1994. It merged with the Journalism Department at the end of 1996 and was renamed the former School of Culture and Communication of Zhengzhou University.
On July 10, 2000, the new Zhengzhou University was merged and established. Due to the development needs of the school, the departments were restructured, and the Art Teaching and Research Section was separated again that year, and the Music Department and the Art Department were established in 2001. All are listed as key development departments by the school.
The Fine Arts Department of Zhengzhou University was formally established as an independent institution in 2001, and began to recruit the first batch of undergraduate students majoring in fine arts that year. With the approval of the school, we have recruited 3 postgraduate students in the direction of "Art Archeology" (2 in 2001 and 1 in 2002) through a master's degree program similar to liberal arts.
The major of the department is "Art Design", and there are 37 students in Level 01. After three semesters of basic art teaching, 37 students changed their major to "painting" with the consent of the school.
In 2002, the "Painting" major was added, and there are 59 students in Grade 02, including 40 students majoring in "Art Design" and 19 majoring in "Painting."
In the second half of 2003, we applied to add the "Sculpture" major, which was approved, and enrollment was implemented in 2004.
In 2004, we applied to add a master's degree program in "Fine Arts" and it was approved in 2005. In 2006, the Department of Fine Arts independently recruited graduate students.
In June 2006, the new teaching building of the Department of Fine Arts designed by Tsinghua University was completed and opened on the new campus. All teachers and students were moved from the south campus to the new area. That year, the school enrolled 70 students, and for the first time recruited students from outside the province. The admissions were based on the unified examination results of each province. Among them, 5 majored in painting (oil painting) (2 from Hubei, 2 from Zhejiang, and 1 from Guangdong), and 4 majored in sculpture ( 1 person in Hubei, 1 person in Zhejiang, and 2 people in Guangdong).
In 2009, the animation design major was opened.
In 2010, it recruited school entrance examination candidates from outside Henan Province for the first time. Examination centers were set up in Shandong (10 people for design and 10 people for sculpture) and Zhejiang (10 people for design), and 30 people were admitted.
On the morning of June 10, 2010, the unveiling ceremony of the Zhengzhou University Art Exhibition Base was held at the Zhengzhou Art Museum. As one of the series of activities celebrating the 10th anniversary of the merger of Zhengzhou University, the "Exhibition of Works by Teachers and Students of the Fine Arts Department of Zhengzhou University" was held at the same time. Kicked off at the base. The establishment of the Zhengzhou University Art Exhibition Base provides a good platform for the School of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University to display in the professional field and all walks of life. From this point on, the graduation works of all undergraduates and graduate students will be exhibited here to the society.
On the morning of December 23, 2010, the opening ceremony of the calligraphy exhibition of famous works and "Hanyuan Steps" and the unveiling ceremony of the Institute of Calligraphy and Culture of Zhengzhou University were held in the Comprehensive Administration Building. The calligraphy culture research of Zhengzhou University has hired Zhang Hai, Ouyang Zhongshi, Zhou Junjie, and Sun Guangju as consultants, and Song Huaping and Zhou Linpo as honorary directors. Li Fangren is the director, and Hai Menghui, Wang Bingshen and Bai Yongkang are the deputy directors.
In March 2011, the Department of Fine Arts teamed up with the Department of Music and the School of Journalism and Communication to jointly tackle key problems and successfully applied for the first-level master's degree in "Art".
On June 26, 2011, the Academy of Fine Arts held a grand unveiling ceremony and hired Mr. Zhang Hai as its dean.
The calligraphy major was launched in the second half of 2011, with the first batch of 6 students enrolled in the 10th-level painting major.
On September 22, 2011, after deliberation by the subject evaluation group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the "Notice on the Result of the Adjustment of Degree Point Correspondence" was issued. The school has newly added first-level master's degree programs in art theory, music and dance, drama and film and television, and will automatically cancel the original master's degree program in art.
On December 29, 2011, the 10th anniversary celebration of the Fine Arts Department of Zhengzhou University was held at the Henan Art Center Art Museum. At the same time, "Ten Years of Reminiscence--The 10th Anniversary Art Exhibition of the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University" was held at the Henan Art Center.
In 2012, new enrollments were added to Hubei, Sichuan, Shanxi and other provinces (for the first time recruiting calligraphy majors from outside the province).
On April 6, 2013, the Zhongyuan Base of the National College Art Teaching Research Center was unveiled. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education Higher Education Press, Henan Provincial Department of Education, and Zhengzhou University, and hosted by the Henan Artists Association and the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University, the "National Art Discipline Construction Seminar and the Unveiling Ceremony of the National Higher Art Teaching and Research Center Zhongyuan Base" 4 It will be held in our school on June 6th.
On June 20, 2013, the "Thinking·Expand-2013 Realistic Oil Painting Exhibition" was hosted by the Henan Artists Association and the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University, and hosted by the Realistic Painting Institute of Zhengzhou University. Held at the Art Museum, Cao Cewen, former vice chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Wang Tianhong, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Chen Yifeng, executive deputy secretary of the school party committee, and Shi Pin***, deputy director of the North China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower, are all "Realistic Painting Research Institute of Zhengzhou University" The name was unveiled and Professor Mao Na was appointed as the director.
At the end of 2013, the Academy of Fine Arts applied for the professional degree authorization point of "Master of Education (Art Teaching Research Direction)" and was approved by the state. It is planned to enroll students in 2015.
In 2015, new enrollment will be added to Jiangxi Province and enrollment of candidates from Sichuan will be suspended.
In March 2015, since the Ministry of Education issued the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on the Announcement of the Registration or Approval Results of Undergraduate Majors in General Universities in 2014", Zhengzhou University has added a new calligraphy major. Since then, the painting (calligraphy) major has been officially approved as an independent "calligraphy" major.
On June 16, 2015, the "Chinese Painting Works of Teachers and Students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University" was hosted by Zhengzhou University and Henan Artists Association, and hosted by the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University, the Chinese Painting Research Center of Zhengzhou University, and the Zhengzhou Art Museum. "Exhibition and Specially Invited Works Exhibition of the Chinese Painting Research Center of Zhengzhou University" opened at the Zhengzhou Art Museum. Ren Gao Gao, deputy inspector of the Propaganda Department of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, and Zhang Qianhong, Vice President of Zhengzhou University, both unveiled the "Zhengzhou University Chinese Painting Research Center".
In order to display and disseminate the artistic achievements accumulated by the faculty team of the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University for 15 years and enhance the external influence of the Academy of Fine Arts, the National Art Museum of China, the Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, the Henan Provincial Department of Education, Co-organized by Zhengzhou University and other units, and hosted by the Henan Artists Association and the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University, the "Songyue Yiyun - Exhibition of Teachers' Works from the Academy of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou University" opened at 2:30 pm on July 30, 2015 at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. , and held an academic seminar on the 7th floor of the National Art Museum of China from 4:00 to 6:00 pm that day. The exhibition lasts for one week and displays more than 150 masterpieces created by teachers from the Academy of Fine Arts.
On November 16, Yelena Brakireva, deputy dean of the Russian Academy of Special Arts, and her delegation visited our school. The Academy of Fine Arts, the Russian Academy of Special Arts, and the Russian International Scientific and Cultural Exchange Center agreed to jointly hold a joint conference in Moscow Hosted the second "2016 International Conference on Art, Design and Contemporary Education (ICADCE2016)" and held an exhibition of works by teachers and students from both schools. And signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian Academy of Special Arts and established a friendly cooperative relationship.
In February 2016, Guangxi and Qinghai were newly recruited from outside the province. Recruitment provinces expanded to nine.
