Excellent lesson plan for kindergarten: Thunder

Study analysis
When it comes to summer, people often think of the scorching heat There is sunshine and endless sweat, but there is another kind of weather in summer - thunderstorms. Summer thunderstorms form quickly and dissipate quickly. Sometimes it rains while the sun shines, which is unpredictable. This activity is to visually display the unpredictable thunderstorms, so that children can clearly describe the characteristics of thunderstorms and gain the knowledge to correctly avoid thunderstorms.
Activity goals
1. Guide children to boldly talk about thunderstorms, lightning and other weather characteristics to stimulate children's interest in natural phenomena.
2. Let children try to use musical instruments to simulate the sounds of thunder and rain, and add music to story scenes.
3. Guide children to initially understand the correct ways to avoid thunderstorms and overcome their fear.
Activity preparation
Material preparation: tape "Raining Song", resource CD "Lightning and Thunder"; thunderstorm and lightning pictures, word cards of "Thunder", "Electricity" and "Rain" , homemade comic story "Little Pig Comes Home"; some tambourines, and some homemade sand bottles (put some rice in the can).
Activity process
1. The music "Raining Song" is played, and the teacher leads the children to clap their hands and enter the classroom
Teachers and children sit around on the ground and say hello to each other.
2. Asking questions to introduce activities
Teacher: Children’s clothes are becoming less and less worn, and the weather is getting hotter and hotter. What season will it be soon?
Young: Summer.
Teacher: What can children see in summer? What sound do you hear? (Children can answer freely)
Teacher: What kind of weather will there be in summer?
Young: Sunny days, thundery days.
Teacher: Wow, children are smart. They can see so many things and hear so many sounds in summer.
Now let’s listen together, what is the sound played by Teacher Xu.
3. The teacher plays the music resource CD "Lightning and Thunder" and guides the children to discuss
(The teacher plays thunder music)
Teacher: Children, listen carefully, what is the sound? Why is there this sound? In what season did it occur? (Children answer freely)
Teacher’s summary: Thunderstorms often appear in summer. (Show thunderstorm diagram) They form quickly and dissipate quickly. Usually you will hear rumbling thunder (show the word card "Thunder"), see fast lightning (show the word card "Electricity"), followed by heavy rain (show the word card "Rain"). Teachers use pictures to guide children in literacy.
Teacher: Are children afraid of thunder and lightning? Why? (Children’s answer)
Teacher: Did you see the lightning first or hear the thunder first? (Children’s discussion)
Teacher’s summary: Children have different opinions. Now let’s see who is right. (Play the resource disc again and pause after watching.) It turns out that lightning was seen first and then thunder was heard. It's because the speed of light is faster than the speed of sound.
4. Discuss what we should pay attention to during thunderstorms
Teacher: There is another question, what should we do when there is thunder and lightning in summer? (Try not to go out; don’t use electrical appliances; don’t hide under trees from the rain...)
The teacher plays the resource CD, shows the reasons why you cannot shelter from the rain under the trees, and explains based on the pictures.
5. Simulate the sound of thunder and rain
Soundtrack for the story "Piggy Comes Home".
Teacher: Children, do you want to learn the sounds of thunder and rain?
Young: I think.
(1) Show the tambourine and give it a beat. What does this sound like? (Thunder)
(2) Show the sand bottle and shake it. What does this sound like? (Sound of rain)
Teacher: When the teacher says "boom", clap the tambourine; when the teacher says "wow", shake the sand bottle.
(Ask the teaching assistant to demonstrate) Now we use these two instruments to score the story "Little Piggy Comes Home".
(3) The teacher shows comic strips and tells stories, and two teaching assistants demonstrate actions.
Teacher: Children, do you want to try it?
Young: I think.
(4) Divide the children into two groups and allow them to freely choose instruments. The teacher tells stories and the teaching assistant guides the children to clap and shake the instruments. (The operation can be repeated according to the children's interests)
Teacher's summary: The children performed really well. In the story, "bang" represents the sound of thunder and "crash" represents the sound of rain. Okay, let’s stop playing today and put away the instruments.
6. Ending activity
Teacher: Today, the children learned a lot of knowledge. You can tell it to your parents when you go home and let them learn it too, okay? Goodbye, kids.
