Yang Yang, whose real name is Yang Bingwei and whose pen name is Yang Yang, was born in November 1926 in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province. He is a national first-class composer. He once served as the head of the Xiamen Song and Dance Troupe, vice chairman of the Fujian Provincial Musicians Association, chairman of the Xiamen Musicians Association, member of the provincial and municipal Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, member of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and executive vice chairman of the Xiamen Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He is currently a consultant to the Xiamen Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Provincial and Municipal Music Associations, a librarian of the Fujian Provincial Literature and History Research Center, a director and professor of the Fujian Conservatory of Music, and the leader and conductor of the Xiamen Xinghai Choir. Member of the Chinese Musicians Association and director of the China Chorus Association.
