Paul Anka? (Paul Albert Anka) Order of Canada. Born on July 30, 1941, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Canadian singer, pop songwriter, and actor of Lebanese descent. Obtained U.S. citizenship in 1990.
Paul Anka first became a famous teen idol from the late 1950s to the 1960s with "Diana", "Lonely Boy" and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder". He continued to write famous music, such as "She's A Lady", which paid him US$5,000 per song to write the theme music interlude, and Frank Sinatra's English song "My Way".
In 1957, he participated in the audition of New York's ABC TV station and sang a piece of his own composition, Diana. His boyish sentiment made him famous. Became the most popular teen idol of the year.
