4.Audacious
Audacious is a player based on Beep-media-player and XMMS. The development of BMP has stopped because the developers of BMP are now concentrating on developing BMPX, but the developers of Audacious inherited the source code of BMP and fork a new mediaplayer---Audacious based on BMP-.9.7.1. Audacious and Beep-media-player are very similar and compatible with their skins. And it depends on very few things, just a bag. Its setting options are basically the same as those of Beep-media-player, but much simpler than those of XMMS. As long as UTF-8 transcoding is set, there is no so-called Chinese problem.
5.XMMS
XMMS(X multimedia system) is a great multimedia player, which can run in almost all systems, but there are some special places under linux. The multimedia files that XMMS can play are MP3, MOD, WAV and other input plug-ins. It is a free audio player running on many UNIX-like systems, which is somewhat similar to Winamp but smaller than it.
XMMS can be regarded as an excellent audio player under Linux, and it is a version specially designed for X-Window. At present, almost all Linux distributions are pre-installed with XMMS. XMMS plays an important role in many Linux playing software with its powerful playing function, changeable skin and magical plug-ins, which can be compared with Winamp under Windows.
6.Amarok
Amarok is an audio player software running in LINUX or other UNIX-like operating systems. It is introduced as free software. Amarok provides many functions besides playing music files. For example, Amarok can manage music collections according to music types, singers and albums, and can also tag many music formats, add lyrics and album covers, and automatically score according to the music played. Therefore, the first execution of Amarok can scare off some users. Some users think Amarok's interface is not easy to use and use simpler music playing software because many functions hide other functions. A large number of functions also lead to criticism that consumes a lot of resources or is swollen.
Amarok provides the following basic functions:
* Plays the following different music file formats FLAC, Ogg, MP3, AAC, WAV, WMA and Musepack, and can also be installed according to the requirements. But note that Amarok will not play music with DRM.
* Apply tags to digital music files (Ogg, WMA, AAC, MP3 and RealMedia are now supported).
* Let the music album have a cover, and the cover can be downloaded from Amazon.
* Create and edit playlists, including smart playlists and dynamic playlists. Dynamic playlists can provide scoring information through AmarokScript, and the number of plays will be added to songs.
* It can be synchronized, downloaded, played and uploaded with some digital music players such as iPods and CreativeZens.
* You can get singer information and lyrics search on Wikipedia.
* Last.fm is supported.
*Podcast
because Amarok is written in KDELibs and Qt, users of GNome find some problems. Exaile provides all the functions of Amarok, but it is a gtk-based program.
7.Banshee
Banshee is the official player of Gnome, and it is a full-featured music player, which can support files in various formats. Even video files can be played. Banshee also has MacOS and Windows versions, but the most stable version is the version running on Linux. The latest version is 2.4., which was released last month. This version is now deeply loved by many Linux enthusiasts, and it can be said that it is the earliest player that Linux enthusiasts have contacted.
8.Clementine
Clementine is a simple cross-platform music playing software, and its interface design originated from the multi-label design of KDEAmarok1.4. Naturally, the software supports the search and management of music library playlists, integrates the network radio services of Spotify, Grooveshark, Last.fm, SomaFM, Magnatune, Jamendo, SKY.fm, DigitallyImported and Icecast, and supports M3U, XSPF, PLS and ASX list formats, as well as CUE, MP3, FLAC, CD, AAC and OGG formats. In short, we have all the usual ones, which sounds very powerful. And previously released version 1..1 for all platforms.
9.Tomahawk
Tomahawk is the least famous of the three. After all, it has only been around for less than a year, but Tomahawk can represent the trend of music players and aims to provide a completely free music platform for Internet collaboration. I used the latest version, .4.2, and found the effect very good (maybe I like to support the weak)!
1. songbird
my first impression of songbird is that it is very "apple" and iTune. It has not only linux versions, but also windows and Mac versions.
compared with other music players, Songbird can be said to be the least like a music player. It integrates a web browser, which means that you can browse the web while surfing the internet in songbird. When music appears in the web, you can capture it with songbird.
