Xiong Yuewei, a member of the Central China Normal University student art troupe, won the national finals of "Peak Music" and will go to Beijing again in July to compete for the qualification to participate in the 2012 Spring Festival Gala.

With the theme of university campus, "Peak Music Collection" selects 36 singers from 12 universities across the country to compete in singing competition. In the finals, a champion will be selected among the contestants from 6 universities. The champion will receive "I Want to "Spring Festival Gala" column, and finally compete for the qualification to participate in the 2012 Spring Festival Gala.

As the only invited university in Wuhan, East China Normal University sent three students, Xiong Yuewei, Hua Yuchen and Tian Yu, to participate. On the evening of the 17th, six singers from Peking University, Tongji University, Communication University of China, China Agricultural University, Hubei University for Nationalities and Central China Normal University competed in the finals. The finals were judged by senior director Lou Naiming, famous host Zhu Jun and famous singer Sun Yue. After two rounds of intense competition, Xiong Yuewei won the unanimous recognition of the judges and the audience with his piano playing and singing of "New Love" and the dynamic and cheerful "Julia", and won the championship in the finals.
