I also taught the young actors such as Pan Mingquan and Huang Shengfeng the niche dramas. The plays "Luo Cheng Xiu Shu" and "Beheading Lu Bu" won him awards in the city's youth performance skills competition, and produced a number of outstanding actors in directing various new plays, such as Zhang Rongrong, Hu Xiaoyuan, Chen Dahua, Yang Cuijun, etc. Now he is participating in the training of young actors Zhou Lixian of Lixian Jinghe Opera Troupe, teaching drama knowledge and rehearsing traditional Jinghe Opera repertoire.

In 1954, he changed to become an actor in Jinghe Opera. He became an apprentice under Fang Juedong, a famous actor in Jinghe Opera. During this period, he was apprenticed to the famous clown Hu Zui. Influenced by his interest, he also performed some clown plays; he began to study directing in 1958; he participated in the Changde City Director Training Class in 1979; he participated in the Hunan Provincial Director Seminar in 1980, adhering to the teachings of Teacher Gao Yu. He taught and has been the director of Jinghe Theater Company in Lixian County. He also has disciples Zhang Xing, Zhou Naiguo, Hu Hong, etc. Especially Zhang Xing and Zhou Naiguo have won many provincial and municipal performance actor awards. Now I continue to teach opera knowledge to young actors in the troupe and rehearse traditional Jinghe Opera plays.

Technical Characteristics

Lizhou Jinghe Opera is a local genre. It mainly performs emperors, kings, generals and sheds, supplemented by talented people and beauties. The four major professions of Chou include playing the harp, playing gongs, and drums. They use singing, acting, chanting, and beating as the performance forms. The main singing is the North and South Road, supplemented by minor tunes. Its main repertoire includes "The Killing", "Five Pictures" and "Twelve Mountains".

After joining Linli Jinghe Opera Troupe in 1962, he became a close disciple of Mr. Huang Jisan, the master of Jinghe Opera, and was taught by Monk Xin Yuan, a hair-bearing monk of Longfa Temple in Jin City. He taught two volumes of "Yunpu". In 1963, he participated in the Jinghe Opera Heritage Excavation and Inheritance Working Committee in Changde area, sorting out traditional operas, Tang operas, divine operas, tunes and operas, and mimeographed 50% excerpts into a volume.
