The epidemic in Shanghai has been severe recently. The whole family has been quarantined at home for more than a month. Although there are many inconveniences and nucleic acid tests have been done more than a dozen times, it cannot stop the intensifying spread. Fortunately, everyone is already used to it. In these days of isolation at home, everyone in the family has developed a working and studying status that is dedicated to their own duties.
Dabao and Xiaobao take classes online. The rest of the time is homework, and a small amount of time is spent reading books and playing games. As adults, we all have our own division of labor and cooperation, as well as our own interests and entertainment methods.
After this month of quarantine life, what is the most important thing? Or what things are more important?
According to current experience, the most important things are three major things: (material pursuit and satisfaction, value release, spiritual pursuit and satisfaction)
First: Make sure the whole family has enough to eat Eating well is a top priority. In other words, how to ensure that the family has enough food, drink, and toiletries? There must be one person in the family who is responsible for purchasing supplies. Now that everyone is under quarantine, we are encountering many big problems. We can’t go out to purchase and we can only order online. When express delivery and logistics are severely hampered, community group buying is the only option. Therefore, there will be fixed-point rush sales, designated platform group purchases, or community group purchases before delivery reaches a certain purchase volume. My husband is in charge of our house. This is a big project. We need to pay attention to many channels and platforms every day. My mother is always taking inventory of the materials needed for the house. She also needs to have a purchasing plan to see through which channels we can finally achieve what we need. Required materials are in place.
Second: Everyone must have something to do, divide work and cooperate, and be relatively fair and reasonable; this time most families should be concentrated at home, which will test the cooperation of every member of the family. Each individual has something to do, plays an important role in the family, and has a sense of worth, identity, and accomplishment. It also needs to be relatively fair and reasonable. It is impossible for one person to do everything alone, as this will lead to quarrels.
Third: Individuals or groups must have certain spiritual pursuits, so as to ensure that the whole family has a good emotional and psychological state. For example, some people in our family watch TV series, others listen to music, play games, read and write, etc.
Fourth: A relatively regular sense of time rhythm ensures everyone's self-discipline, which is reflected in relatively fixed times for eating, fixed times for entertainment, fixed times for sleeping, and fixed times for activities.
Fifth: It would be better if there are quantifiable goals. It is actually much better for children to have the arrangements and constraints of online classes. The key is for adults to have a sense of goal, a sense of urgency for countdown, a sense of ritual, and a sense of value.
Sixth: Be sure to maintain a good attitude and find two ways to relax yourself since childhood, such as music, yoga, reading and writing, reduce anxiety, reduce quarrels and conflicts with family members, maintain good communication, and ensure The atmosphere at home is happy and joyful.
Many friends called me, and they were also concerned about what to do with food at home. How is your health? How is your mood and status? How I get here every day is actually the important things I listed above. Everyone wants to know how I keep a happy mood, because I can basically do what I want to do at home, which is reading, writing, watching TV shows, and playing piano with my baby.
This week my classmate Xiaobao is deeply tied to me. I care about her study and she cares about my writing. As long as she completes her homework seriously and quickly, or plays the piano well on time, she can read the chapters of the novel she has written. Gradually, I added a function to her, which is to help me revise the manuscript.
I didn’t expect that she, who is in the fourth grade of elementary school, could really help me correct the typos in the novel and make the sentences smooth and logical. She often discusses the characters and storylines in the novel with me, which not only makes me very happy, but she also feels very accomplished.
So although we have been in isolation, we are happy that our whole family lives together. Fortunately, we are all safe and well, and our daily life is still full and beautiful.
