Notes on piano exams:

1. Dressing

Although the exam is not a formal performance on stage, dressing is still very important. Although you don’t need a formal dress or anything like that, you should at least keep it clean, tidy, and elegant. Girls should not wear tank tops, and boys should avoid sweat tops. Wear at least something semi-formal that meets the dress code for ID photos.

2. Etiquette

When entering, give the examiner the required admission ticket and bow to the judges generously. If you are worried that the judges will take the wrong form for registering scores, you can say : "Hello, teacher, my name is so-and-so." If you need to adjust the position of the piano bench before playing, please move the piano bench as quietly as possible to avoid making sharp noises.

3. Typhoon

Try to stay calm during the performance. Don't touch or scratch here and there. If you are unfortunately bitten by a mosquito and it is extremely itchy, try to endure it. You can keep a bottle of Fengyoujing with you to relieve itchiness before going on the field. There should be a gap of at least 3 seconds between the songs. Don't end one song and play the next one without putting your hands down.

Don’t panic when you make mistakes. Due to factors such as nervousness, playing errors often occur during exams. Don't panic, keep playing, and don't stop to correct mistakes or start over. The examiner pays more attention to the overall performance of the music, and a single mistake is not important. A good beginning and a good end. Don't leave immediately after the performance. Keep the artistic conception of the music appropriately, then bow and leave.
