In order to save shoes, Liu Changchun runs barefoot every day when he goes to school. When he was in elementary school, he broke Dalian's primary school sprint record with a time of 11.8 seconds for 100 meters and 59 seconds for 400 meters.
In 1923, Liu Changchun participated in the "Kandong Continent Land Sports Conference" organized by the Japanese ruling authorities. At the age of 14, he won the 100 meters and 400 meters with results of 11.8 seconds and 59 seconds respectively. Racing champion. Later, he entered Lushun No. 2 Middle School to continue his studies.
