How to maintain HIFI speakers - HIFI speaker maintenance methods
Hi-Fi is the abbreviation of High-Fidelity in English, literally translated as "high fidelity", its definition is: the height of the original sound Similar playback sounds. Below, I will share with you the HIFI audio maintenance method, I hope it will be helpful to everyone!
1. The normal working temperature of audio equipment should be 18℃~45℃. If the temperature is too low, the sensitivity of some machines (such as electronic tube machines) will be reduced; if the temperature is too high, components will easily burn out or cause components to age prematurely.
Special attention should be paid to cooling and maintaining air circulation in summer.
2. Audio equipment should be kept away from direct sunlight and away from heat sources such as heaters.
3. After using up the audio equipment, all function keys must be reset. If the function key is not reset for a long time, its pulling button spring will be under stress for a long time, which may easily cause malfunction.
4. Before turning on and off the audio power supply, turn the volume potentiometer of the power amplifier to the minimum. This is the most effective means of protecting the power amplifier and speakers. At this time, the power amplification of the power amplifier is almost zero, at least it will not cause harm to the speaker during misoperation. It is best to turn off the power when plugging and unplugging the cable.
5. When turning on the power, turn it on from front to back, that is, turn on the CD player first, then turn on the front and rear stages. When turning on the power amplifier, turn the volume potentiometer to the minimum. When shutting down, first turn off the power amplifier so that the amplification function of the power amplifier is completely turned off. At this time, when you turn off the front-end equipment, no matter how large the inrush current is, it will not reach the power amplifier and speakers.
Similarly, when turning off the amplifier, turn the volume potentiometer of the power amplifier to the minimum, and turn it off or turn it on before turning it off again to connect it to the CD player.
6. Don’t plug in and out the wiring. Basically, all speaker products cannot plug in the sound wiring when playing music or turning on a high volume, because plugging will cause the contact current to be unstable, resulting in high-pitched sounds and slaps. These high-frequency sounds may damage the speaker unit and may even "burn the speaker".
Therefore, users should develop the habit of cutting off the power supply first before plugging in the wiring, so as to extend the life of the speaker.
7. The machine should be used frequently. Common use can prolong the life of the machine, such as some parts with motors (recording decks, laser record players, laser video disc players, etc.). If it is not rotated for a long time, some parts will be deformed.
8. Power on regularly. When not in use for a long time, especially in humid and high-temperature seasons, it is best to power on for half an hour every day. In this way, the heat generated by the components inside the machine can be used to drive away moisture and prevent internal coils, speaker voice coils, transformers, etc. from getting damp and moldy.
9. Wipe the surface of the machine with a clean, damp soft cotton cloth at regular intervals; when not in use, cover the machine with a dust cover or cover to prevent dust from entering.
Many players like to remove the dust filter from the speaker to make the sound quality clearer. However, if the speaker is used without protection, it is very likely to accidentally damage the unit position, especially the mid-range speaker. As a "high-risk group".
If users want to enjoy high-quality music, they may wish to remove the dust-proof nets of the three front speakers. It is best to keep the dust-proof nets on the back, and remember to close them tightly after use. This can reduce the occurrence of accidents.
10. From the principle of electronics, any electronic device should not be connected or disconnected from other devices when it is powered on. I think friends can understand this without too much explanation. It is very dangerous to plug and unplug active equipment, and even passive equipment such as microphones are not recommended to be plugged and unplugged while powered.
It should be reminded that you should never turn on the power amplifier to connect the speaker cables, because the binding posts of the speakers are generally very close to each other, and the speaker cables are two tightly parallel, and the wiring is often inconsistent. Be careful to short-circuit the speaker wire, the consequence will be to quickly burn out the amplifier. Although some power amplifiers are equipped with protection circuits, some HI-FI level pure power amplifiers often omit this part of the protection measures in order to improve the sound quality and reduce unnecessary sound coloration.
Therefore, the phrase "turn off the phone and reconnect it" has long been a rule that audiophiles must abide by.
11. Some finicky audiophiles will not turn up the volume or play some explosive music when the amplifier is hot. The reason is that the amplifier components are in a cold state when they are first turned on. At this time, allowing them to operate with high current will shorten its lifespan.
Therefore, some audiophiles only play some soft music and listen to music at a medium volume for the first half hour after turning on the machine, and then turn up the volume to enjoy it after the machine warms up.
12. A speaker is like wine. The longer you use it, the better the sound becomes. The condition of a newly purchased speaker should not be at its peak, so users should play music quietly for a few hours to a day as a "warm-up."
Of course, 5.1 speakers need to play some movies or concerts that support five-channel output, so that the diaphragms of all speakers and subwoofer units can be relaxed to make the sound quality softer and more natural. This is very important.
