The total length from north to south is about 5 kilometers; the widest point from east to west is about 320 meters, and the narrowest point is about 170 meters. Orange Island is located in the Xiangjiang River in the urban area of ??Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a long and narrow sandbar, also known as Orange Island, Orange Island, Orange Island and Shuilu Island.

There are residents living on the island, but many of them have moved out due to the overall planning. Orange Island became the Orange Island Scenic Area of ??Changsha Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area in 2001. On April 29, 2014, with the opening of the first phase of the Changsha Metro Line 2 project for trial operation, Juzizhou Station was opened for operation.

On August 3, 2016, the National Tourism Administration announced the revocation of the 5A scenic spot qualification of Orange Island Tourist Area due to serious safety hazards, poor environmental sanitation, serious degradation of tourism service functions and irregular management of the scenic area.

On December 18, 2017, after a review by an expert group organized by the National Tourism Resources Planning and Development Quality Assessment Committee, Juzizhou Scenic Area regained its 5A scenic spot qualifications.
