Jing Ke assassinated the King of Qin
As early as the Warring States Period, the Qin State used the big to suppress the small and the strong to bully the weak. The State of Yan was often bullied by it. King Zhao of Yan built a golden platform and recruited heroes from all over the world, determined to enrich the country and strengthen the people and resist Qin. It was after this that Jing Ke was recruited by Prince Dan of Yan with a large sum of money.
Jing Ke is Korean. After he was hired, Prince Dan of Yan built a very beautiful house for him, called Jing Pavilion. The current Jingke Village is said to be the location of Jingguan. Jing Ke ate delicacies from the mountains and the sea, and was surrounded by beautiful women. After raising him like this for one or two years, Prince Dan didn't say why. Jing Ke wanted to contribute to the Yan State, but for a while he had no way to repay his favor. At this time, Prince Dan of Yan came to Jingguan and explained that he wanted to send him to assassinate King Qin. Jing Ke agreed wholeheartedly and bravely took on this task.
The appointed date has arrived. Prince Dan held a farewell banquet for him by the Yishui River. Jing Ke took Fan Yuqi's head with him. (Fan Yuqi was originally a minister of the Qin State, but he defected to the Yan State because he was dissatisfied with Qin's tyranny. In order to successfully assassinate the King of Qin, Fan Yuqi sacrificed his own head so that Jing Ke could gain the trust of the King of Qin). At the same time, he also brought Yan State Governor Kang ( kàng)'s map, with a dagger hidden in the map. The warrior Qin Wuyang followed, boarded the car and went straight to Qin Ting.
The King of Qin was singing and dancing with his concubines and maids in the palace. Suddenly, he heard a report from his ministers: "Jing Ke, the envoy of the State of Yan, has come to present the head of Fan Yuqi and the map of Dukang." The King of Qin couldn't help but feel anxious. Dayue sent an order to receive the envoy at Xianyang Palace.
The Xianyang Palace is magnificent and majestic. The King of Qin sat in the middle, with hundreds of civil and military officials standing on both sides. Jing Ke stepped forward and offered Fan Yuqi's head first. King Qin burst out laughing when he saw it. Then, Jing Ke raised the Dukang map high above his head and presented it to the King of Qin. At this juncture, Qin Wuyang was timid and panicked, and his calves were trembling. Jing Ke caught sight of this scene out of the corner of his eye. He was afraid that he might reveal his fault, so he hurriedly moved forward, hoping to get King Qin to take the map quickly so that he could take action. King Qin took the map, and Jing Ke excused himself that he could not see clearly one part of the map, so he moved forward again. After a few steps, he helped the King of Qin to show the picture and pointed out the picture. This is what people often call "the dagger seen in the picture". At this time, Jing Ke quickly pulled out the dagger and stabbed the King of Qin. Thinking that King Qin had a heart-protecting mirror, Jing Ke moved a little further away from him, and the dagger struck him, but the force was weak. He only heard a "clang" sound, but the King of Qin hurriedly lifted his robe and ducked behind the big red pillar. Jing Ke hurriedly pursued him with his dagger.
There were many civil and military ministers standing on both sides of the palace, but why didn't they bring any weapons? It was stipulated that civil and military ministers were not allowed to bring weapons to court. Besides, no one dared to do anything without the King of Qin's order. At this time, the King of Qin was so panicked that he even forgot about the sword on his shoulder. He didn't even bother to give the order. ! It was Minister Zhao Gao who reminded him and shouted: "Your Majesty, you also have a sword! "Then King Qin suddenly realized. But what he was holding was the Longquan Sword. The Longquan Sword was long, and he couldn't draw it out in a hurry. Zhao Gao made another gesture to draw the sword from behind, and then he pulled out the sword. Jing Ke was a warrior and he was strong. King Qin drew his sword and was no match for him! He was so frightened that he could only parry but had no power to fight back. "My king, give me the order quickly." ah! "That's when he gave the order. The civil and military officials in the dynasty captured Jing Ke and Qin Wuyang with all their hands and feet, and chopped them into meat paste on the spot." Later, in memory of Jing Ke, the people of Yan State built a building next to the Jing Pavilion. On the hill, a Jingke Pagoda was built. Jing Ke's body was gone, so his crown, robe and feathers were placed inside. Jing Ke Pagoda is actually Jing Ke’s tomb (zhǒng).
