Yes, of course. The Music Department of Soochow University School of Arts was founded in 1998 and was renamed Soochow University Conservatory of Music in 2012. The earliest predecessor of Soochow University is Soochow University, founded in 1900. It is the earliest university in China organized with a modern university discipline system. In 1950, Suzhou National Institute of Social Education (founded in 1941), Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Education (founded in 1928), and Chinese Academy of Literature (formerly Wuxi Traditional Chinese Studies School, founded in 1927) merged to form the Southern Sunan Institute of Culture and Education.
