Each key has different meanings in different situations. For example, the cross and circle in the European and Hong Kong versions are different. The cross in the Hong Kong version means OK and the circle means exit. The European version is just the opposite. Most of the other keys are similar. Triangle opens the option menu, and box reads clips when watching a movie. There are prompts when using it at other times, because this key is relatively rarely used. The arrow keys move the cursor in the menu, and the same is true in the game. In the game, the character moves using the joystick, which is the one under the arrow keys. Needless to say, there is also the one for increasing and decreasing the volume. The buttons in the row below the screen with music symbols are used to adjust the sound effects during music playback. The box next to the music key is for adjusting the screen brightness, SELECT is for adjusting the CPU in standby mode, and is generally not used much. START is mostly used for games, and there are prompts when using it.
