Wu Amin studied martial arts since childhood, and graduated from the Wushu Department of Beijing Sport University. He was trained in Anhui Sports Team and Wushu Team, majoring in Tai Chi events such as Tai Ji Chuan, Machinery and Pushing Hands. He studied under Mr. Li Bingci, the fourth generation descendant of Wu-style Tai Ji Chuan, and the fifth generation descendant of Wu-style Tai Ji Chuan. He was the special coach of CCTV's "Smelling Chicken and Dancing" program.
In 1997, in the 5th International Wushu Invitational Tournament, Wu Amin won the first place in Wu-style Tai Ji Chuan and 42-style Taiji Sword.
