Beijing Institute of Modern Music is a private non-academic higher education institution. There is no such thing as "a few".

The college began full-time teaching in 1996. Since its establishment, the college has organized a series of large-scale cultural activities, including the "Nine Trees Digital Music Festival", "Beijing Modern Pop Music Festival", "Beijing International Drummer Festival", "International Forum on the Development of Chinese Musicals" and other Beijing-level events and even national-level art exchange activities. The college consists of scientific research institutions such as the Institute of Popular Music and the Institute of Music Media, as well as the Beijing Modern Music Art Troupe.

Predecessor - In April 1993, Beijing Popular Music Training Center was established.

Contemporary - In June 1996, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Modern Music Training Institute was established on the basis of the Beijing Popular Music Training Center. After several years of hard work, the college has developed into a comprehensive higher art college that focuses on cultivating modern pop music talents, while also cultivating national music and serious music talents.

The main development strategy of the college: to target the training of students in rising professional fields with great development prospects in China that are difficult to follow in traditional art education. Focusing on China's urbanization process and the rapid development of the cultural industry, there is a huge gap in modern art talents. By broadening ideas and integrating resources, a modern art education system with vocational education as the main school orientation has been gradually established.
