Melbourne is the administrative center of the Australian state of Victoria and one of the most prosperous cities in the Australian music industry. Melbourne's Great Ocean Road was built to commemorate the soldiers of World War I and is one of the most beautiful roads in the world. This time, let’s go on a road trip, the most beautiful road.
A friend went to the Great Ocean Road with a group. After returning to China, he complained to me that he only spent 50 minutes in the Twelve Apostles after riding for four hours. There are only four words in my heart: "Waste of heaven." As one of the most beautiful roads in the world, I have been to the Great Ocean Road about six or seven times, and I am bored because I encounter different scenery every time.

Additional useful information about this line at the end.
On the Great Ocean Road route, you can dedicate it to 12 disciples in one day and get one card. If you want to travel in depth, it may take a month or even longer. You can stay in a bay for three or four days, and you can also drive along the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Adelaide, South Australia, so your itinerary is quite flexible. Of course, it is best to travel by self-driving or chartering a car. If you are traveling with a group, we strongly recommend you choose a 2-day tour. It’s such a quick day trip. I will plan an itinerary for you based on a 1-3 day schedule.
One-day trip: You can leave Melbourne early in the morning, follow the coastline of the Great Ocean Road, go to the Twelve Apostles via Jilang, and then return to Melbourne from the A1 highway.
Two-day tour: You can visit Geelong first, then take the A1 directly to Campbell, stay in Campbell, play around the Twelve Apostles, and watch the sunset. The next day I walked the Great Ocean Road from Campbell to Melbourne.
Three-day tour: Take the ferry from Mornington Peninsula to the Great Ocean Road, stay one night on the Mornington Peninsula, then stay one night in the middle of the Great Ocean Road, and stay one night in Port Campbell, the Twelve Apostles. Slowly experience the beauty of the Great Ocean Road.
Three days to several days: the itinerary can be more casual. You can start your trip to South Australia by driving to Adelaide.
This article is my favorite travel route. It is rich in content and I recommend it to everyone. Depart from Melbourne (A), pass through the Mornington Peninsula (B), take the ferry to C, complete the Great Ocean Road coastal journey, and then go from A1 to Geelong G and return to Melbourne.
The famous Great Ocean Road is a coastal road running from Torchitoki-Lorne-Apollo Bay, Apollo Bay-Port Campbell, Campbell-Warrnambool, and Vanambool-Port Fairy, as shown below.
Day trip to Mornington Peninsula - Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne’s back garden
Mornington Peninsula (Mornington Peninsula) is about an hour’s drive from downtown Melbourne. Known as Melbourne's back garden, it is surrounded by the sea on three sides. Famous attractions on the peninsula include Yasi Maze Lavender Garden, Peninsula Hot Springs, Schenck Point Lighthouse, etc. If you want to visit all the above attractions, you will need one day.
Brighton Beach
From Melbourne to the Mornington Peninsula, drive along the coastal road in St Kilda for more than ten minutes and you will arrive at Brighton Beach. There are many colorful cabins here. These cabins, called bathing boxes, are private spaces for their owners to spend their vacation at the seaside. It is mainly used to store surfboards, fishing rods, canoes and other water play things. Of course, it also has the function of changing swimsuits and changing rooms.
Mornington Peninsula National Park
Because I drove the wrong way, I accidentally entered the Peninsula National Park. There are several places in the park where I could see panoramic views of the Mornington Peninsula.
Mornington Peninsula
The Mornington Peninsula Hot Spring is built on the mountain and is completely original. The hot spring pool on the top can overlook the entire Mornington Peninsula. If you come to Australia in spring, summer, autumn and winter, it will be very comfortable to soak in the hot springs here. It is not convenient to bring a camera in the hot spring. I took two photos with my phone. More pictures and specific information can be seen from the official website. Official website address: /
At sunset, there are many people in the hot spring pool on the top floor.
Take pictures of the pure sky with your mobile phone.
Shenjia Lighthouse Sanctuary
In the dark night, the lighthouse is a well-known place.
It’s like traveling through a dreamy scene in a movie,
Swaying in the sun
This is a good place to take pictures of the stars, because this travelogue is the last two A collection of Great Ocean Road, so I carry it with me in winter and summer. Don't be surprised.
No. 2, Ocean Road, Akagi
Ferry travel
Arriving at Sorrento Port on the Mornington Peninsula early in the morning, this is the ferry we took. Get
You can buy tickets in advance by checking the times and prices on the website: .au/; Of course, it is not the peak season for Christmas and New Year's Eve. Just go to the window and buy a ticket. When you arrive at the port, you can queue up in the car to buy a ticket, drive on the ship, park the car in the cabin, and go.
After about 40 minutes of sailing, there was wind on the deck. Return to the cabin for a cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful view of Philip Bay.
Ocean Road
When we arrived at Queencliff, there were signs for the Great Ocean Road along the way. The scenery on the Great Ocean Road is very different on a sunny day and on a cloudy day. It is recommended that everyone avoid driving on the Great Ocean Road from June to September every year. It is winter in Melbourne during this period, and the scenery will be greatly reduced on rainy days.
The Great Ocean Road is full of scenery. Don’t rush to the Twelve Apostles and enjoy the gourmet feast along the way. This beach has not yet reached the beginning of the Great Ocean Road.
There is a crossroads about 100 meters away. You have to walk to the end of the entire beach to see it. I don’t recommend that you go looking for it specifically. The Great Ocean Road is full of scenery. Maybe you can encounter your own scenery inadvertently.
Torquay
Torquay, the starting point of the ocean, is a famous surfing town. Although the clouds were thick at this time, it was still clearly visible in the distance. Seeing the blue sky is hope.
Split Point Lighthouse
On the road from Torquay to Lorne Lorne you will pass the Split Lighthouse. Little Red Riding Hood is very cute and a must-see attraction on the Great Ocean Road.
Agla Rock
The lighthouse overlooks the "Eagle's Beak"
Panorama of the Eagle's Beak. Life here is really "facing the sea, with spring flowers blooming"
Lorne
Leave the lighthouse and head to Lorne. This is a quiet town with mountains on its back and the sea on its back. Many Australians come here on holiday and stay for a week.
I think there is someone in everyone's heart. I hope that when I grow old, I can hold hands and watch the sea quietly.
Lunch can be arranged in Lorne. There is nothing special to recommend, so we just picked one. I really can’t live without the Internet anytime, anywhere. I accidentally bumped into a mirror while roaming Superman's mobile WIFI while eating. When eating, you need your phone to eat so that you can eat it in your mouth.
What I would like to recommend is driving out of a scenic spot not far from the town, a piece of grass on the roadside. At the end, you can see this open landscape, which is quite shocking.
Barton Point continues. I think it's called Barton Point. This is a scenic spot overlooking the endless coastline.
Cape Otway Lighthouse
After passing through Lorne, you will reach Apollo Bay. I didn't stay here long before I entered the Great Otway National Park. Driving out of Apollo Bay I saw the sign for Cape Otway turning onto Otway Lighthouse Road. You can find koalas on the road.
Continuing onwards is Cape Otway Lighthouse, the oldest existing lighthouse on the Australian mainland. The light on the lighthouse has been on since 1848 and was the first light that countless immigrants from Europe saw after leaving Europe.
Next to it is a small tropical rain forest. Grandpa, the trees are intertwined, as if you have entered the world of the Wizard of Oz.
The next long section is the virgin forest. The oil painting-like light and shadow attracted us to stop and take photos.
Twelve Monuments
I have stayed twice in Port Campbell on the Great Ocean Road, very close to the Twelve Apostles. If I leave Melbourne in the morning and travel all the way, it’s usually around three or four in the afternoon when I arrive in Campbell. Of course, everyone’s time spent on the road is different. Sunset time is half at five o'clock in winter and eight o'clock in summer. If you want to watch the sunset in "The Twelve Apostles", you have to plan your time. Disciples can take a helicopter overlooking the Great Ocean Road here. There are two types of helicopters, the red one is for 8 people and the yellow one is for 4 people. The price for 4 people is higher than that for 8 people, and the 8 people sitting in the middle have a bad view. I was lucky enough to get a window seat.
Seeing nature’s work from God’s perspective is astounding. For thousands of years, rough waves have crashed and eroded the coastline.
The Twelve Apostles is a faded masterpiece. Over the years, waves crashed into the limestone cliffs on the shore, forming caves and stone arches that collapsed into these stone pillars of various shapes. They were eroded away, and every moment we see now is history.
The pile of rubble below the Twelve Apostles who took off their veils in the morning is the collapsed rock.
12 Disciple, the signal here is not very good. This time I used Roaming Superman’s overseas WIFI, which has a 6000 mAh battery and can last for 15 hours. For girls like me who are addicted to the Internet, this is simply standard. It's such a big effort to have it appear in an iconic attraction, and it's a thank you to it for accompanying you along the way.
Two survivors, here called two survivors, is to commemorate the two survivors of the shipwreck.
GIBSON STEP
GIBSON STEP is next to the Twelve Apostles, about a five-minute drive to Melbourne. It's really charming at sunset.
3 days in Mist and Rain in Puerto Princesa
Port Campbell
Today we drove from Port Campbell to Puerto Princesa, completed the journey of the Great Ocean Road, and then returned to Melbourne from A1. The weather in Australia was baby-faced, cloudy all morning. The drive from Port Campbell to London Bridge takes about five minutes. London Bridge was once connected, but it collapsed in 1990 due to continued sea and wind erosion, becoming the current broken bridge.
London Bridge
Nambool
Farewell to London Bridge and continue onward. It was raining heavily when we arrived at Wannabur, so we did not stay too long. . I originally planned to go home, but then I thought that Port Fairy wasn't too far away, so I wanted to visit it. After more than 20 minutes, the rain subsided, giving us a chance to enjoy this quiet town. This small town built in the 19th century gave me a surprise with its retro architecture, boundless deep sea, and quiet harbor. Even if it only shows one-tenth of its beauty on a rainy day, it still makes people miss it.
This is like a chapel in a cartoon by Hayao Miyazaki. From yesterday's hustle and bustle to today's world suddenly becoming quiet, it's really amazing.
Port Fairy
The weather in Port Fairy was not very good this time. I hope the weather will be fine next time.
Ji Lang
Leave Port Fairy and return to Melbourne along the A1 highway. You can visit Victoria's second largest city via Geelong.
Geelong is a city, but it feels more like a small town. The sun is setting here, take a walk on the beach, and end the journey on the Great Ocean Road as the sun sets.

Practical information for online car rental booking for self-driving cars:
After preparing your visa or buying a ticket, you can start renting a car online. Australia's large car rental companies Avis and Hertz, as well as Thrifty, Europcar, etc. Nowadays I prefer renting a car online. The Chinese interface is very convenient.
About the choice of pick-up location:
There are two airports in Melbourne, one is TULLAMARINE and the other is AVALON Airport. You can’t go wrong when choosing a pickup location. Avalon Airport mainly serves Australian domestic flights. If you go to Melbourne from other cities, you can choose this airport, which is relatively close to the Great Ocean Road. In addition, the Great Ocean Road has been completed. If you want to go sightseeing in Melbourne, it is best to return your car in the city, because parking lots in Melbourne are expensive and there are frequent traffic jams, making it inconvenient for tourists to drive.
Maps and navigation:
All mobile phones now come with built-in map functions. Navigation is easy. don’t worry. However, there is a section of the Great Ocean Road where there is no signal. It is more convenient to download the map to your mobile phone in advance. In some parts of the ocean, cell phone reception is poor. This time we have brought roaming Superman mobile phone WIFI and 4G network, which can meet the traffic needs of many mobile phones. I especially don’t like to bring a power bank with me when I go out. It can also be used as a power bank. This 2IN1 configuration is really convenient. The cost is tens of dollars a day, and 500m of 4G traffic is enough for the whole trip. It is recommended that you choose roaming Superman mobile wifi, which is more convenient than changing phone cards.
Road situation introduction:
Melbourne’s peak hours are quite congested, and there will be no traffic jams when leaving the city. There are two roads out of the city, the M1 and the A1. Follow the GPS. B100 is the coastal Great Ocean Road, the speed limit is 60-80. Although it is a two-lane road, the road condition is good. There are speed limit signs on some corners, so be careful to slow down. Some roads in Melbourne are free, but they can be avoided through GPS settings. The entire Great Ocean Road does not require toll roads. There are no manual tolls on the roads, they are all managed by electronic eyes. If the car rental company charges a fee, it will be deducted from the credit card, usually more than 10 Australian dollars. Speeding fines are very heavy in Australia, so everyone must pay attention to your speed.
About traffic rules
1. When driving on two-way lanes in Australia, you need to drive on the left. When there are multiple lanes, the first lane on the right is the passing lane. It's easy to turn on at first, and the turn signals become wipers.
2. In Australia, driving a vehicle in the secondary lane must be for the purpose of driving a vehicle in the main lane. If you want to turn out of the alley, you have to wait until the through lane ends before turning. When encountering a roundabout, go right first. Let all traffic entering the roundabout pass to your right before you proceed.
3. Australians generally do not honk their horns when driving. If honking the horn is not a curse, it is to remind you that there may be an accident ahead, the traffic police is checking the speed, etc.
Fill the fuel tank
There are no manual services at gas stations in Australia. You can get the refueling gun yourself, put it away, and click to add directly. After adding the parking space number you like, you can pay by yourself at the supermarket at the gas station.
