What is "Coffee Meditation"

Recently, I have been seeing the concept of "coffee meditation", and along with this concept is the "Four Steps of Diamond". I was a little curious, so I searched it on the Internet, and then I found out that it comes from "Can" Michael Roche Geshe, the author of "Broken King Kong".

When Geshe Mike Roch was studying at Princeton University, he got the opportunity to study in Asia because of his excellent grades, and he embarked on the path of learning ancient Tibetan wisdom.

After living in a Buddhist monastery for more than 20 years and becoming a Buddhist master, his master encouraged him to go into business and said to him, "Although the monastery is an ideal place to practice profound Buddhist wisdom, , but the busy American workplace is the perfect laboratory to test these wisdoms in real life.”

Later, Geshe Rochi entered the diamond industry from scratch, using the wisdom of the Diamond Sutra and working with friends. Together they founded Anding International Diamond Company, one of the world's largest diamond jewelry companies. When he left the company in 1998, its annual sales had exceeded US$100 million.

Geshe Luoqi wrote the Diamond Sutra wisdom he used in shopping malls in the book "The Diamond Can Break", which influenced countless people.

I read this book a long time ago. For me, this book has two very important points:

1) Causal connection.

Everything in this world happens for a reason. If there is a cause, there will be an effect. If there is an effect, there must be a cause. If you want a good result, you need to sow good causes. And it takes time to produce good results from the seeds of a good cause.

Just like sowing seeds in a garden, every thought, word, and deed in your mind is a seed. If you irrigate it regularly and replenish nutrients, it will grow quickly. And lush; if neglected and surrounded by weeds, it will grow slowly or even fail to grow. If you want this garden to be blooming and beautiful, you need to sow as many good seeds as possible. If you think about it, this garden is also a mirror of our real life.

2) Give before you want to get

If we want to get something, the best way is to achieve ourselves by helping others get it. Because helping others can make the seeds you sow grow faster and produce the desired results.

Through this perspective, we can reflect on the problems encountered in life or work and how to solve them. For example, if you find that you are always in financial trouble and need to increase your income, you can achieve your goal by helping others increase their income. For example, if you find that people around you always ignore what you say, you can try to listen carefully to others first. If the company's rent is too high and somewhat unaffordable, then efforts can be made to find space for those who need space.

When Geshe Rochi first entered the diamond industry, his master asked him to earn US$1 million within a year. At that time, Geshe Roch only had 50 US dollars in his pocket and did not know what to do, so he asked an old monk for advice. The old monk told him that he needed to understand four steps. This is the origin of the Four Steps of the Diamond Method.

I found a TED talk by Geshe Roch on the website. The theme is "Enlightenment", which contains a detailed introduction to the Four Steps of Vajra.

Summarize the three key points in the speech:

1) Be financially independent

2) Have good interpersonal relationships

3) Health

4) Inner peace

5) Doing things that can help people

A pen in a person's hand can be something used to write. . But for puppies, it’s teething sticks. But placed in a room without people or animals, it means nothing. "Empty" is nothing, but at the same time it contains everything. Just like in the movie "Super Body", when the heroine Lucy's super power reaches its peak, she disappears, but people around her receive a text message: "I am everywhere."

1) Make it clear that you What do you want? Write it on a piece of paper

2) Find someone who wants the same thing as you, this is your karmic partner

3) Go and help you once a week Karma Partner

4) Do a small meditation before going to bed every day, which is coffee meditation. Lean your head on the pillow and think about the wonderful things you can do for another person. When you think about this, you are irrigating this karma. The karma will sprout quickly in your mind and make you think about things. become.

But in fact, in addition to meditating on the good things you have done, you can also meditate on some good things done by others. It is not limited to the time before going to bed. You can do this meditation at any time, but the awareness before going to bed will be stronger.

Geshe Luoqi’s TED speech can be watched on Tencent Video. If you are a Tencent member, it is strongly recommended to watch it on the client without advertising. The 60s long advertisement is really intolerable.
