Shanghai Conservatory of Music, located in Shanghai, is a full-time professional conservatory organized by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of People's Republic of China (PRC) (China) and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is a national double-class world-class discipline construction university and a member of the European Union of Conservatory of Music and the Pacific Rim Union of Conservatory of Music.

It has been selected into the national postgraduate project of building a high-level university, the national cultural innovation project, and the national inter-provincial social and artistic level examination unit, and is known as the cradle of musicians.

The motto of Party Secretary Pei and Dean Liao Changyong is University. The school has Fenyang Road Campus and Lingling Road Campus. In September, 2022, official website showed that the college has 14 departments, 3 first-class doctoral programs and 2 post-doctoral research stations, which are located in affiliated middle schools and affiliated primary schools.

There are 284 full-time students, 5 faculty members, 3 full-time teachers, 75 international students and 720 primary school students. Signed contracts with 33 world-class or first-class conservatories in more than 20 countries and regions.

The development of Shanghai Conservatory of Music;

2065438+May 2007, Shanghai Conservatory of Music announced the establishment of the National Band Academy, exploring the establishment of a development model of national bands that is more in line with the performance characteristics and discipline laws of China national instrumental music. In September, it was selected as the first batch of national double-class world-class discipline construction universities.

In the same year, Shanghai Conservatory of Music was selected as a high-level local university construction school in Shanghai. On October 27th, 65438/kloc-0, the school and 25 conservatories in 14 countries and regions jointly released the international discipline evaluation index of music and dance.

The Shanghai Consensus on Excellent Music Education provides a China solution for the global music discipline evaluation standard. In June, 20 18, it was approved as the first batch of selected projects in Shanghai's first-class undergraduate construction leading plan, and in April, 20 19, it was approved as the first batch of selected projects in Shanghai's first-class postgraduate construction leading plan.

In August, the China Music and Culture Center jointly established by Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts was established in Singapore.
