What are the amateur music grades?
At present, the grading of amateur piano in China is different due to the different grading organizations in different places. Except for the highest level of all majors in the Central Conservatory of Music, most of them are rated as Grade 1.

In addition, in order to provide candidates who have passed the highest level with opportunities for further improvement, some examination institutions have successively introduced "performance level" examinations. The performance level is a further improvement level for candidates who have passed the highest level examination. It provides a platform for candidates to continue to improve their performance skills, and at the same time, it has a bridge-like connection significance for a small number of candidates who may try to enter music colleges for further study. The arrangement of tracks is difficult, which requires candidates to have certain professional qualities and be able to comprehensively grasp the works of different periods.

Generally, the amateur grading examination is held twice a year, and the examination time is mostly arranged during the winter and summer vacations. Generally, the grading organizations will inform you of the specific examination time and place six months before the examination.

The examination content of piano major is roughly divided into five parts: scales, etudes, polyphonic music, large-scale music and small-scale music.

the test requires memorization (candidates over 4 years old are not required to memorize).

Special note: Generally speaking, candidates who take the Grade III or above in each major are required to pass the Music Theory Examination at the corresponding level before they can apply for the performance examination. The specific requirements may vary from examination institution to examination institution. Please check with the corresponding examination institution (candidates who are under 7 years old and over 4 years old in each major are exempted from the "Phonetic Basis" certificate, but they must bring their household registration book or original ID card when registering).
