Sanmao, whose real name is Chen Ping, was born on March 26, 1943, in Dinghai County, Zhejiang Province, and majored in philosophy at the Chinese Culture University. After graduation, he studied in Europe, and after getting married, he settled on the Canary Island in the Spanish Sahara Desert. He wrote a series of popular works based on the local life. After returning to Taiwan in 1981, he taught at the Cultural University. He resigned from the teaching position in 1984 and focused on writing and speaking. Died on January 4, 1991, at the age of forty-eight.
She has traveled all over the world, and her works have been widely circulated in the Chinese community around the world. She also has a large number of readers in mainland China. Her life works and translations are very rich. ***There are twenty four kinds.
Sanmao's English name is ECHO, and Sanmao was originally a pen name. From the preface of Sanmao's "Naoxueji", it is only mentioned that there is a hexagram of the I Ching hidden in the word "Sanmao". But what the mystery is, I don’t know. But Sanmao himself once said: I originally gave this name because it was very inconspicuous. Another reason was that the things I wrote were very ordinary and were only worth thirty cents.
Sanmao was born in Chongqing, Sichuan on March 26, 1943 (February 21 of the lunar calendar). Sanmao showed his interest in books when he was young. He was reading "Dream of Red Mansions" when he was 5 and a half years old. When I was in junior high school, I read almost all the world famous books on the market. I dropped out of school in my second year of junior high school and was carefully taught by my parents to lay a solid foundation in poetry, classical Chinese, and English. He also studied painting with two painters, Gu Fusheng and Shao Youxuan.
In 1964, with the permission of Mr. Zhang Qijun, the founder of the Cultural University, he became an auditor in the philosophy department of the school and achieved excellent academic performance.
In 1967, he dropped out of school again and went to Spain alone. In the past three years, he studied at the University of Madrid in Spain and the Goethe Academy in Germany, and worked in the law library of the University of Inno in the United States. It was of great help to her life experience and Chinese language learning.
In 1970, he returned to China and was invited by Mr. Zhang Qijun to teach in the German and Philosophy Departments of Wenda University. Later, due to the sudden death of her fiancé, she left again and went to Spain while grieving. Reunited with Jose, who had been in love with her for 6 years.
In 1973, he and Jose were civilly married at the local court in the Spanish Sahara Desert. The life in the desert inspired her latent writing talent. Encouraged by the then editor-in-chief of the "United Daily News", her works continued to flow, and she began to publish them in books.
The first work "The Story of the Sahara" was published in May 1976.
On September 30, 1979, her husband Jose died in a diving accident and returned to Taiwan.
In 1981, Sanmao decided to end his 14 years of wandering in a foreign country and settle in China. In January of the same year, the "United Daily News" specially sponsored her to travel to Central and South America for six months. After returning, she wrote "Traveling Through Thousands of Rivers and Mountains" and gave a speech around the island. After that, Sanmao taught in the literary and art department of the Cultural University, teaching novel writing and prose composition, and was deeply loved by students.
In 1984, due to health problems, he resigned from his teaching position and focused on writing and speaking.
I returned to my hometown in Mainland China for the first time in April 1989, and found that my works also had many readers in Mainland China. He also paid a dedicated visit to Mr. Zhang Leping, who is famous for his comic book "The Wanderings of San Mao", to confirm his long-cherished wish.
She engaged in script writing in 1990 and completed her first Chinese script, which was also her last work "Red Dust".
Died in the early morning of January 4, 1991, at the age of 48.
Sanmao’s mysterious death: a murder that has remained unsolved for many years
At 7 o’clock in the morning on January 4, 1991, when a cleaning lady at a hospital in Taiwan gently pushed open a single room When she opened the door of the ward, a terrifying scene appeared in front of her -
On the hook of the IV stand next to the toilet, Sanmao's body was hanging, wearing a red flower pajamas on a white background... …
An elf, a legendary female writer who influenced more than one generation in Taiwan and mainland China with her own personal experiences and transformed her language, San Mao passed away.
The Taiwan police concluded that he was "weary of the world due to illness."
People are talking about Sanmao's death: some say that Sanmao has been tortured by illness for a long time and can no longer bear the pain of illness; some say that Sanmao has been trapped by love all his life, and this time he died in a On the word "love"; some people say that Sanmao was too deeply influenced by "A Dream of Red Mansions" and she believed that life is death and death is life; some people say that Sanmao's death is related to "The Red Dust"; some people say that Sanmao's death is It was an appointment to go to Holland; some people say that Sanmao died because his talents were exhausted and he could not write good works; some people say that Sanmao's death was related to political pressure;...
But these seem to be reasonable. However, none of them can withstand careful scrutiny.
As if the disease is hopeless, Sanmao was actually diagnosed through surgery on January 2, and it was confirmed that it was not cancer, but a general gynecological disease. The doctor said that this kind of disease can usually be cured and the problem is not serious, which eliminates the big problem that weighs on Sanmao's heart. Sanmao is indeed in poor health and suffers from many diseases, but this is definitely not what the outside world has spread: she is suffering from a terminal illness.
Some people attribute Sanmao's death to the fact that the movie script "Red Dust" she wrote did not win the Best Screenplay Award. In fact, Sanmao is "very indifferent" to whether she will win the award.
Her work was misinterpreted by others and attacked by people with ulterior motives. In addition to being unfair and angry, she was also a little "uncontrollably sad", but she didn't take it to heart at all, saying that Sanmao died in "Red Dust" , is nonsense!
In Sanmao's emotional world, he always advocates wisdom, bravery and morality. From the time she and Jose fell in love to getting married, there was no lingering color or soft serenade, but only sincerity and frankness. Looking at Sanmao's love life, it is full of twists and turns, ups and downs, rather than searching and miserable, let alone being trapped by "love"!
In his "Comments on Sanmao", Mr. Gu Jitang said more directly about Sanmao's death: First, if Sanmao was really determined to die, why did he go to the hospital for treatment? Woolen cloth? Secondly, the environment in which Sanmao died lacked the atmosphere of suicide. Generally, people who are preparing to die must first design and create an environment for death, such as closing doors and windows, removing things they don't like, secretly leaving a will, etc. Sanmao is a very sophisticated woman, and she should think of all these things. Third, the way Sanmao died was not enough to kill him. The infusion stand was only 1.6 meters tall, as tall as the deceased. Long stockings were placed on the stand to tie up the neck and the extra length after straightening with iron hooks. How could Sanmao's body be "half-hanging above the toilet"? Fourth, Sanmao once vowed to declare: "Those who are responsible do not have the right to die."
Sanmao has no plans to commit suicide. She has already arranged her work for the new year. She gave Jia Pingwa She wrote a sincere letter, and she said repeatedly in an article: "Life is beautiful..."
The evidence of Sanmao's suicide is very insufficient. Everyone in the world knows that Sanmao committed suicide. Mao committed suicide because of the police conclusion and overwhelming media reports. In fact, Shen Fang's conclusion that he was "weary of the world due to illness" was only inferred based on superficial phenomena when he rushed to the scene seven or eight hours after Sanmao's death.
