The three elements of musical sound are as follows:
Tone, loudness and timbre are the three elements of musical sound. Pitch refers to the pitch of the sound, loudness refers to the size of the sound, and timbre refers to the sensory characteristics of the sound. Musical sound is the most important and basic material used in music. The melody and harmony in music are all composed of musical sound.
Three elements of music
1. Loudness is also called volume. The intensity of sound perceived by the human ear is a subjective perception of the size of the sound. The loudness is determined by the amplitude of the sound at the receiving point. For the same sound source, the farther the wave amplitude propagates, the smaller the loudness; when the propagation distance is constant, the greater the amplitude of the sound source, the louder the loudness.
2. Pitch is the frequency of sound, and it is the three main subjective attributes of sound. Indicates the degree to which human hearing distinguishes the pitch of a sound. Pitch is mainly determined by the frequency of the sound, but also related to the intensity of the sound.
3. Timbre means that the frequency of different sounds always has distinctive characteristics in terms of waveforms, and the vibrations of different objects have different characteristics.
Music tone system
The sum of the fixed pitch sounds (i.e. musical tones) used in music is called the musical tone system. According to the commonly used twelve equal temperament, from the lowest pitch (about 16 vibrations per second) to the highest pitch (4186 vibrations per second), there are about 97 tones in the entire musical system. The sounds in the musical sound system are arranged in ascending order (from low to high or descending (from high to low)), which is called a sound sequence.
We can clearly see the tones and tone sequences used in the musical tone system on the piano. The modern standard piano is the instrument with the widest range. It has 88 keys and can play 88 tones with different pitches. In other words, the piano has 88 tones with different pitches. Other sounds are rarely used in music.
