How to set ringtones in iTunes
If you want to set your favorite ringtone on your mobile phone, you need to set it in iTunes. Next, we will show you how to set ringtones in iTunes.

Connect the mobile phone

First, open iTunes to connect your mobile phone, and get ready to start the journey of ringtone setting.

Check ringtone options

Go to editing preferences in iTunes and check the ringtone options in regular sources.

Add ringtone

Drag the ringtone to your iTunes library. Please make sure that the ringtone does not exceed 40 seconds, otherwise you cannot synchronize to your mobile phone.

Create ACC version

Find the added ringtone in the music category of the library and right-click to create the ACC version.

Confirm file format

Select the newly created ACC version ringtone, right-click and select Show in Windows Explorer in the pop-up menu, so that the folder where the newly created ringtone is located can be opened. Confirm that the ringtone file has been converted to .m4a format. If you can't see the .m4a suffix, please turn on the file extension display function in Windows.

Rename file

Rename the ringtone file in .m4a format to .m4r.

Drag and drop files

Drag the ringtone file in .m4r format into iTunes, and the file will be automatically classified into library-ringtone instead of library-music.

choice device

Select a device in iTunes, such as iPhone, and then click the device instead of the menu options such as music and ringtones below.

Synchronous ringtone

Select the ringtone bar in the top horizontal line of the right window of iTunes, and then select Sync ringtone. Finally, click Apply in the lower right corner of the window to complete the setting.
