Bing Xin’s childhood life in Yantai

The famous writer Bing Xinyu was born in Fuzhou on October 5, 1900. Between 1903 and 1904, her father Xie Baozhang was ordered to establish a naval officer school in Yantai, Shandong.

At that time, Yantai was vast and beautiful, with the wide Yellow Sea nestling against the port city. However, due to the two Opium Wars, Yantai was ceded to the invaders by the Qing Dynasty. After Yantai Mountain was forced to open as a port, a series of foreign consulates, luxurious houses, churches, schools and hospitals from the United States, Britain, Denmark and other countries were built at its feet. At the southern foot of the gorgeous consulate, dilapidated houses are clustered together; poor people live here. Every day you can hear the sound of dock workers shouting slogans, and every day you can see hungry children and poor people begging for food.

It was against this background that Bing Xin followed her parents from Shanghai to Yantai and began her eight years of childhood life. These eight years of life were deeply imprinted in the writer's heart. She followed her father to visit the warship and told stories to the naval soldiers; she galloped on the beach on a white horse, leaving behind her cheerful laughter. Listening to my father telling stories under the melon trellis and watching the stars in the sky; being chased by wolves on the mountain is thrilling. On a cloudy day, Bing Xin blew bubbles and chatted with her friends, enjoying her beautiful childhood dreams. While walking on the beach, my father told Bing Xin: I participated in the Sino-Japanese War of Sino-Japanese War, and I was the gunnery mate on the Weiyuan battleship. On the day the war started, the comrade standing next to me was shot through the abdomen by an enemy shell, and his intestines were splashed on the chimney! After the artillery fire stopped, I tore off the intestines of my comrade that had been roasted on the chimney and put them into the cavity of his body. These things, like what happened today, will always hang in front of my eyes. It is impossible not to avenge this! We are being bullied by powerful foreign enemies. Are the people who died, the compensation paid, and the land cut off enough? Bing Xin listened with half-understanding, and suddenly felt that she had grown up.

The innocent childhood life was soon broken by the cruel reality: in 1910, there was a turmoil in the Naval Academy. Bing Xin's father was accused of being a "rebellious party" and he had no choice but to resign. From then on, Bing Xin left Yantai with her parents.

"Childhood Bing Xin in Yantai" reproduces the innocence and beauty of the childhood life of the famous writer Bing Xin through the description of the famous writer Bing Xin's childhood life. But at the same time, it also writes about the thoughts about the future that that era brought to Bing Xin's childhood.

On August 3, 2008, the Bing Xin Memorial Hall was grandly opened on Yantai's mother mountain - Yantai Mountain.

I haven't eaten this kind of pear for a long time. Yantai is the hometown of my soul!"

Sitting in front of a bookshelf filled with books, Bing Xin told the visitors from Yantai about his childhood experiences in Yantai with a smile on his face. She talked and talked, sinking into memories - Yantai Dongshan Seaside in the early morning.

The golden sun rises slowly through the clouds, and the thick golden light shines on the sea, as if a colorful painting is drawn with a gold pen.

There was a child in a black navy uniform standing on the beach. She stood quietly towards the rising sun, looking attentively. For a long time, for a long time.

Big White Horse Blue Waves

The sea water gently tells childhood dreams,

Boat Childish laughter floats leisurely,

How many times the sea breeze blows into your chest,

How many times do seabirds fly into your dreams,

Soul Dreams linger around, dreams linger around souls,

Has the little kingfisher in the dream flown back to the soul?

The sound of the piano brings out the smiling longing,

The lighthouse blinks its bright eyes,

How many echoes of the waves wet your thoughts,
