Wang Yue (December 3, 1426?[1-2]? - January 12, 1499?[3-4]?), originally named Wang Yue?[5]?, also known as Wang Yue?[5]? Shichang. A native of Jun County, Daming Prefecture (now Jun County, Henan Province). A famous general and poet in the mid-Ming Dynasty.
In the second year of Jingtai (1451), Wang Yue ascended to the rank of Jinshi and was awarded the title of Censor. The right deputy of the tired official is the censor of the capital and the governor of Datong. During the reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty, he was appointed as the Minister of the Ministry of War. He oversaw the military affairs of Datong, Yansui, Gansu and Ningxia. He was granted the title of Bo Weining for his meritorious service. He became one of the three civil servants (the other two being Wang Ji and Wang Shouren) who were awarded titles for their military merits in the Ming Dynasty. Called "Wang Weining". It was also the first trilateral president. In the 19th year of Chenghua (1483), after Wang Zhi, the powerful eunuch, was demoted, Wang Yue was deprived of his title and expelled, and was banished to Anlu.
After Emperor Xiaozong of the Ming Dynasty came to the throne, Wang Yue was pardoned and returned to his hometown. Later, he became an official with the title of Zuodu Censor. In the tenth year of Hongzhi (1497), he resumed his post and was appointed as the crown prince Taibao. He was also in charge of border affairs and governor of Gan and Liang. Later, he also controlled Yan and Ning towns. The following year, he defeated the Tatars in Helan Mountain, and with his merits, he became Shaobao and became the crown prince and Taifu. Xuan was ordered to go through Hami. He died in Ganzhou in December of the eleventh year of Hongzhi (January 1499) at the age of seventy-three. He was given the posthumous title "Xiangmin" as a posthumous gift to Taifu, and later generations called him "Wang Xiangmin".
Wang Yue was forgotten by later generations mainly because he was ostracized by civil servants, later trusted eunuchs, made careless friends, was implicated by Li Guang and dismissed from office, and was unable to display his talents, so he was gradually forgotten by the world. At that time, the Ming Dynasty used civilians to lead the army, and military generals completely withdrew from the government. Although Wang Yue was a scholar, he had a different character from ordinary civilian officials.
After leading troops in several battles, Wang Yue's character became generous, and his generosity and heroism can be seen in his poems. This was contrary to the character of the civil servants, which led to rejection by the civil servants. Moreover, he had achieved many military exploits, which led to the jealousy of the ministers.
Wang Yue later became involved with Li Guang. After Li Guang's downfall, he was dismissed from his post. When he was a senior, he was labeled as an associate of Li Guang. He was implicated and refused to deal with government affairs. Finally, he died in depression.
Wang Yue used his troops strangely and dared to take risks. With his own intelligence, he defeated the Tatars. Unfortunately, in the end he was ostracized by civil servants, made careless friends, and was implicated by eunuchs, which led to his final depression. If he had made the right decision at that time, he might have been able to enjoy a lifetime of glory and wealth, be famous in history, and not be forgotten by future generations.
