He Zhizhang, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, lived the life that men wanted most all his life.

He Zhizhang lived to be over 8 years old all his life. In his career, he was old enough to be an official and had a successful career. In the workplace, no one is jealous of many friends; When he was old and retired, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty issued a letter to all officials in the ruling and opposition parties to bid farewell to him and gave him Jianhu. In addition, in calligraphy, his cursive script was second to none in the Tang Dynasty. In poetry, although he is not as famous as Li Bai and Du Fu, his famous poems are also passed down through the ages. Look, he has almost all the good things in the world, and this almost ideal life is what men envy and want most.

He Zhizhang was born in an official family, and he was "famous for his literary words" when he was young. However, he could not stay away from serving his mother until Wu Zetian took part in the scientific research in the year of Sheng Yuan (695), which made him the first scholar in Zhejiang with historical records.

He Zhizhang was not awarded four teaching assistants in the Eight Grades until he was 54 years old. Later, he was recommended by Lu Xiangxian, the then prime minister. Since then, his career has been flat and he has been promoted to Chao Yilang, Hubu Yuanwai Lang and Juju Lang. At the age of 58, he was appointed as the attendant of the King of Shaanxi (that is, Su Zong), and was promoted to secretary junior supervisor, straight bachelor, assistant minister of the Ministry of Industry, and secretary supervisor. At the age of 67, he was appointed assistant minister of the Ministry of Rites and bachelor of Jixian Hall. "Two honors at a time are enough for scholars to shine"; At the age of 8, he was promoted to be a prince guest, doctor Yin Qingguang Lu and the supervisor of the secretary. He didn't resign until he was 86 years old.

Throughout He Zhizhang's career as an official, all of them were close to the emperor. As the saying goes, a companion is like a tiger, but it is rare and smooth in He Zhizhang, which really envies the world. Why is this so? This is not only related to his own talent, but also to his personality, personality and mentality.

Be honest with people and make friends

In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), Li Bai, who was not famous yet, came to Chang 'an, the capital, to seek development. One day, while visiting a Taoist temple, he happened to meet He Zhizhang. At that time, He Zhizhang was an 84-year-old elder, and he was a senior official of the Prince's guests.

At the first meeting, He Zhizhang felt that he hit it off very well with Li Bai. In addition, he had read his poems before and was very impressed, so he started a cordial conversation with him. Li Bai showed He Zhizhang his new work "Difficult Road to Shu". After reading it, He Zhizhang exclaimed: "You are an immortal relegated from heaven!" As a result, Li Bai had the title of "fallen immortal", and since then he has often called himself in his poems. It is not easy for a prestigious official of the imperial court to communicate with Li Bai, who is dressed in cloth, so frankly and give such a high evaluation.

in addition, He Zhizhang is very talented. Before meeting He Zhizhang, Li Bai had been running around the door of dignitaries, offering them his own poems, hoping to be recommended, but he was repeatedly rejected, mainly because Li Bai's "political examination" failed. But He Zhizhang didn't care about this. He thought that Li Bai was talented and couldn't be easily disappointed, so he recommended Li Bai in front of the emperor. Therefore, Li Bai was summoned by the emperor, and he was able to embark on his official career and became an academician of the Tang Dynasty.

He Zhizhang's frank personality has also made him many friends, all of whom are awesome. For example, he, Zhang Ruoxu, Zhang Xu and Bao Rong are also called "Four Scholars of Wu Zhong"; With Li Bai and Li Shizhi as "Eight Immortals in Drinking"; Together with Chen Ziang, Wang Shi, Wang Wei, Sima Chengzhen, Bi Gou, Li Bai, Lu Zangyong, Song Zhiwen and Meng Haoran, they are called "Ten Friends of Immortals". They often compose poems and drink together, whether they are happy or not.

In Du Fu's "Song of the Eight Immortals in Drinking", it is said that "riding a horse is like riding a boat, and you will fall asleep when you are dazzled." That is, He Zhizhang rides a horse after drinking, swaying like a boat. ZuiYan hazy, dazzling, fell into the well would fall asleep. This exaggerated description, filled with a funny and cheerful mood, also vividly shows He Zhizhang's open-minded character.

Bold and broad-minded, sincere and sincere

One day, He Zhizhang went out to play and passed a villa of a family named Yuan. He doesn't know this had, according to the habit of ordinary people will not rashly with strangers to mix "naturally invited", but He Zhizhang is not so, incredibly don't even say hello to break in, also called the master of the entourage, visitors with money, don't worry about "free". Later, I felt that I didn't have enough fun, so I specially wrote a poem entitled "Don't leave the job of Yuan": the owner didn't know each other, and I occasionally sat as a nymphs. Master, don't worry about buying wine, pocket drum, no shortage of drinks. Look, how can a person with this personality not have fun!

Another example is He Zhizhang drinking with Li Bai in his later years. At dusk, he asked Li Bai if he would drink. Li Bai held back his laughter and said seven words: "Drink in the morning, drink in the evening, and drink in the dream!" " The answer is wonderful. He Zhizhang Coke is in full bloom. So the two of them came to the pub and just sat down. He Zhizhang found that he didn't have any money with him, so he untied the gold turtle bag around his waist as a drink. When Li Bai saw this, he quickly stopped and said, "No, this is an ornament given to you by the royal family according to its grade. How can you exchange it for wine?" He Zhizhang laughed on his back and said, "What is this? I'm lucky to make friends with immortals today, but I want to have a good drink! " This move has made the story of "a scarab for wine" a success, and it has also become an allusion for future generations to make friends with.

Being diligent and not seeking fame and fortune

Besides being frank and friendly, He Zhizhang is also diligent and not seeking fame and fortune in his work.

In the 13th year of Kaiyuan, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty made He Zhizhang, 66, an assistant minister in the Ritual Department and a bachelor in the Hall of Jixian. The Prime Minister asked him nearby, which of the two officials is better? He Zhizhang replied that the assistant minister was a substitute official position, and the bachelor was pregnant with Wang Zhidao first. After listening to this, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty secretly rejoiced, and then arranged for him to accompany the prince to study. So why was Tang Xuanzong happy? It turned out that three years ago, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty wanted to write a law book "Six Classics". When he wrote the book, Zack Zhang had to ask He Zhizhang for help. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty also wanted to compile a history book "Wen Bian". Prime Minister Zhang Jiuling strongly recommended He Zhizhang, and the emperor wondered why everyone recommended He Zhizhang. Look at He Zhizhang's answer, the key point is to do this bachelor well and finish compiling these two classics. As for the well-known assistant minister of does, he doesn't care.

Of course, He Zhizhang's sincere character is sometimes embarrassed in officialdom.

in the year of prince Huiwen's death, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty issued a letter, ordering the ritual department to select Wan Lang to attend the funeral. Wan Lang is a teenager who leads a coffin to sing an elegy at the funeral. This is a wonderful job that Wang Lu was awarded the official seal after the funeral, which means that he will be a "national cadre" who will be paid in the future. Therefore, Wan Lang is selected from the rich children, and they are all related households, which is hard to break He Zhizhang. Later, He Zhizhang was not satisfied with the choice of the list, and some people who were dissatisfied ran to the door of He Zhizhang House to make a noise, so that he couldn't go out. There was no way out, so he had to move a ladder to climb the wall and stick his head out to deal with things. At that time, people laughed at him. But the emperor knew He Zhizhang's difficulty, and then he was transferred.

Optimistic, casual, generous and tolerant

In addition to his exquisite poetry and prose, He Zhizhang is especially good at cursive writing. "Weighing the contemporary", Wen Tingyun said: "Knowing the cursive writing of chapters, the pen is strong and the fashion is lofty." Dou Yu's "Shu Shu Fu" says: "The lakes and mountains are descending, and the tourists are crazy. The pen is absolutely perfect, and the fragrance is widowed. " However, He Zhizhang's ink remains few, and there are still the stone carvings of Long Rui Palace on the south slope of Wanwei Mountain in the southeast of Shaoxing City and the cursive script of Xiao Jing spread to Japan.

In his later years, He Zhizhang often wandered in the alleys, and when he was drunk, he wrote poems and poems, which were often scrolls, all of which were remarkable without adding some words. He is also good at cursive writing, and people who love calligraphy often supply him with paper and ink, so he writes with a brush and writes in one go. But He Zhizhang is different from others, knowing that others want to take his words to collect and exchange money, he still comes to the net and splashes ink until all the paper in front of him is written.

He Zhizhang's poem "Chanting Willow": Jasper is dressed as a tree with ten thousand green silk tapestries hanging down. I don't know who cut the thin leaves. The spring breeze in February is like scissors, expressing his excitement and joy after returning to his hometown. Then there is his "Homecoming Book": when a young man leaves home, the old man returns, and the local accent has not changed. When children meet strangers, they smile and ask where the guests come from. After more than 5 years of official travel, he asked a child for directions. The child actually asked him: Where did you come from? In the poem, there is He Zhizhang's infinite emotion and his optimistic and broad-minded true nature.
