To be worldly is to interact with others, and to ask yourself to get to know people and make friends. As the saying goes, those who are close to vermilion are red, and those who are close to ink are black. Confucius said: There are three friends for those who benefit, and three friends for those who suffer harm. Friends who are straightforward, forgiving, and knowledgeable are beneficial; friends who are open-minded, friends who are gentle and kind, and friends who are sycophants are harmed. Guiguzi specializes in recognizing people. His original purpose was to select and employ people correctly.
Gui Guzi’s four tricks of recognizing people are as follows: once you read them, you can read them calmly. If you memorize them, you will definitely gain something. If you can see through human nature, you will be more likely to succeed.
1. In general, it depends on the courtesy
Interpretation: When a person is prosperous, it depends on whether he is still modest, prudent, polite, and abides by the rules.
Extension: A truly wise person sees far and will not forget about his success just because of a momentary success, because this is a villain's success. If there is such a person around you, you must recognize clearly that such a person will not go very far and will not develop much, so just wait and see.
On the contrary, if a person becomes prosperous and remains as humble and polite as ever, then such a person is obviously not satisfied with his current situation, so he will definitely be able to develop further.
2. Listen and watch what he does
Definition: After listening to a person's words, you should see whether he does that. I'm not afraid that he won't be able to say it, but I'm afraid that he won't be able to do it after he says it.
Extension: As the saying goes, it is easier said than done. Many people are generals of words, always talking a lot but doing very little. Often what is said cannot be realized. This kind of behavior just shows that this person does not have a strong will and is just addicted to talking, which consumes his will in the long run.
So when looking at a person, don’t always listen to what he says. Listening to too much rhetoric is not as good as looking at whether the person can do something down-to-earth.
This actually inspired me to pay attention to actual actions instead of just being a lip service. In this way, you will not be recognized by others and will be looked down upon by others.
3. Stop and observe what you like
Definition: Through a person’s hobbies, you can see the nature of that person.
Extension: As the saying goes, hobbies form habits, habits form character, character determines destiny, and character is also the essence of a person. Therefore, when looking at a person, you can see his hobbies, and you can judge the nature of this person through his hobbies, and thus you can identify people. For example, if a person likes to travel alone, it is likely that he is aloof at heart.
In short, people with many good habits will not be any worse. At the same time, making friends with such people can also improve you and let you learn something from his good habits. .
4. If you are poor, do what you want.
Interpretation: It doesn’t matter if you are poor. The poor will not take advantage of you. Such people have good nature.
Extension: The ancients said: If you are poor, you can take care of yourself; if you are rich, you can help the world. So when a person is poor, it is caused by many reasons, and you cannot look down on this person because of this. On the contrary, if this person does not take advantage of others when he is poor and works hard to do his job well, then this person is essentially good. It is worth communicating with, and this kind of quality is also worth learning.
