Many people are in a messy circle of friends, busy socializing and catering. But in fact, people who have a clean circle are the ones who are truly self-disciplined and understand life. They enjoy the pleasure of a clean circle, are not deliberately unpleasant, and are not bound by social interactions.

This does not mean that one does not eat the smoke and fire of the world, and is not stained by the dust of the world, but that there is a pure land deep in the soul, and there is an original intention behind the thoughts.

Lu Xun was very well-known among literati. Logically speaking, his home should be full of guests, but this was not the case. On the contrary, Lu Xun was notoriously picky in making friends. He only made friends with like-minded and congenial friends. We also strive to be simple when getting along with each other on weekdays. Except for occasionally going out to party with two or three friends, we spend the rest of the time at home reading and writing.

As Lu Xun himself said: "It is enough to have one close friend in life, and the world should treat him with the same sympathy." Two or three close friends are better than thousands of nodding acquaintances.

To subtract from the circle is to add to life.
