Dong Yu said: "Use' Sanyu'." Someone asked what "Sanduo" meant. Dong Yu said, "Winter is a year's slack time (you can study), night is an extra time during the day (you can study), and rainy days are more than four seasons a year."
Dong Yu, the word season is straight. Simple personality, inarticulate but studious. During the reign of Emperor Xiandi Xingping of the Han Dynasty, Dong Yu and his brothers took refuge in his good friend General Duan. Dong Yu and his brother collect wild rice and sell it to make a living. Every time they go to firewood, Dong Yu always takes Confucian books with him. When they are free, they take them out to learn reading. His brother laughed at him, but Dong Yu still studied.
