Marit and Marion met at 1990 (about five years old). Because of their love of music, they became good friends and often performed together for family and friends. Their first record was the children's album Synger Kjente Barnes Anger (singing famous children's songs) recorded in Norwegian at the age of eight, and this album was nominated as "Best Children's Album" by Spillemanspriest (equivalent to the Grammy Award in Norway). 1July 1998, M2M signed a contract with Atlantic Records. The first single "Don't Say You Love Me" was written by M2M and co-produced by celine dion and Jennifer Paige. M2M-The Big Room (Album 2)
The Big Room was recorded in the famous Bearsville Studio in Woodstock, new york. The album name is taken from the main room of this studio. At the same time, it has another meaning, because the songs in the new album were written by Marion Raven and Marit Larsen, two members of M2M, during their world tour. For these two big girls, the world seems to be the big room. In order to record this album, they stayed in the recording studio for six weeks in the cold winter of 200 1 early. M2M once again cooperated with producer/musician Jimmy Bralo, and an excellent small jazz band participated, including Tom T-Bone Volcker (bass, hollow/electronic guitar, organ, synthetic instrument), Jimmy K. Burns (electronic/hollow guitar) and Kenny Aaronov (drum, percussion). They made a fascinating album together. The album is full of pop songs created with confidence and skill, creating a kind of pop music dominated by natural guitar music. This sounds reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow and Jewel, as well as alternative singers Count Crow and Travis, who are all musical inspiration sources of M2M. M2M personally composed eight songs, including Jennifer and Farewell. "Miss Popular" and "Everything" shine with irresistible melody and frank lyrics. In addition to the gripping melody and careful arrangement, M2M's sweet and harmonious chorus and strong lyrics make the big room more audible. The forming process of this album, like these two big girls, is very natural. The existence and complementary relationship between them injected enthusiasm and purity into their music.
