Let's briefly talk about my understanding.
1, finance
Finance is the most popular major in City University, so it will be more competitive than other majors and the tuition will be higher. Needless to say, teachers are all big cows in the industry. The future employment direction is basically investment banking, securities, funds and so on. The picture below shows the curriculum of finance. You can have a general concept in your mind.
2. Linguistics
Linguistics is also a popular major applied by mainland students, and it is also a major ranked very high in the world by city universities. Because of the wide range of employment, I can be an English teacher in a training institution or a translator in a tall school in the future. Of course, you can also do some clerical work, such as HR, so it is very popular. Postgraduate courses need students' autonomous learning ability and teamwork ability. Most courses have team work tasks, and weekends are usually used for preview. Although it is hard and stressful, it is full of gains. Like research monks in the mainland, the final term is the busiest time, and they often spend the whole day in the library, catching up on papers or reviewing exams. As long as you don't die, you won't fail ~~ps: The City University Library is still great, with many English books and a cubicle for students to work in groups ~ ~
In short, the professional characteristics of city universities are strong learning autonomy and many things to contact. As for what major to choose, you need to know your own specialties and recognize your own development direction in order to feel happy in your study.
