Development of sheep industry
According to Zhangye Daily, Zhao Zhenlai, a large sheep farmer in Nanhu Village, Qingquan Town, Shandan County, joined the sheep raising association because of the backward way of raising sheep, high cost and low benefit. With the guidance and help of the Association, he contracted Shandan Machinery Forest Farm to plant 260 mu of forage, and built a large-scale farm, fattening and raising 6.5438+0000 sheep every year. This year, he bought more than 5,500 shelf sheep from Ayouqi, Minqin and other places for quick fattening. At present, 3,200 sheep have been slaughtered, and the average net profit of each sheep is 50 yuan. The annual net income of raising sheep reached 6.5438+0.6 million yuan. This is only one aspect of Shandan County Sheep Association to help farmers increase their income.

Prepare enough forage and mix it reasonably. Forage suitable for raising Hu sheep includes fresh grass, green hay, rattan forage, silage, fruit leaves and mulberry leaves. The forage for feeding Hu sheep should be reasonably matched, and nothing can be eaten, otherwise it is not Boer goat, but has a single taste, and it will cause some diseases due to lack of nutrition. Green hay and fresh grass should be fed together, and some silage should be added if possible. There is a lack of green fodder in autumn and winter, so large-scale farms should prepare silage for the winter in summer and autumn. Conditional free-range households can also use silage. In addition to silage, enough hay and straw should be reserved for wintering materials (crushed, soaked in water properly and fed to Boer goats). 1

At the same time, sheep farmers were organized to introduce nearly 654.38+0000 fine breeds of small-tailed Han sheep and 756 Liaoning cashmere goats from Shandong, Liaoning and other places, improving 365,000 local sheep, greatly improving the degree of improved sheep. Nowadays, Shandan Sheep Association has become an important bridge to guide sheep farmers to enter the market and participate in market competition. A Hu sheep consumes 7-8 kilograms of fresh grass, 3-4 kilograms of green hay and 4-5 kilograms of corn silage every day; 1 year, 1 Hu sheep needs about 2600kg of fresh grass, 0/200kg of green hay and 0/500kg of corn silage. On average, 5-6 sheep can be raised per mu of grassland (in captivity). Farmers should plant grass to raise sheep and store forage according to the number of their flocks. In recent years, Shandan County Sheep Association has actively helped sheep farmers to introduce and sell sheep through the form of "Association+Company". It has successively established a mutton sheep transportation and marketing branch, a mutton sheep breeding branch, a product processing branch in three industry and eight township member liaison offices, and set up 10 purchasing points inside and outside the county. The members of the association have grown from 60 in the early days of the association to 150 now, covering all counties. Sheep Association actively promotes artificial insemination and fattening technology to sheep farmers who join the association, and provides services such as mutton sheep breeding for its members free of charge.

Add concentrate to increase nutrition. The concentrate feed for raising sheep is mainly supplemented and cannot be fed in large quantities. In the case of sufficient forage, ewes, lactating ewes, breeding rams, lambs and lean sheep should be added before breeding, and the daily feeding amount should be controlled at about 250 grams per sheep, and it is more appropriate to add in the morning or evening. The main ingredients are generally bran, soybean meal, corn, vegetable Boer goat seed cake, bran cleaning and so on. Suggested formula of concentrated feed: corn 30%, soybean meal 10%, bran 30%, rapeseed cake 16%, bran cleaning 10%, salt 3% and mineral additive 1%. When is the best time to breed in Boer Mountain?
