Dongshi town has developed shipping, fishery, textile and other industries since ancient times, and is known as' Zou Lu on the seashore and the land of benevolent people'.

Dongshi Ancient Village with a long history is the most iconic building in Dongshi.

Dongshigu Village is located in dongshi town Town, with Jinnan Village in the north and Touwan in the south, echoing Jinmen Island from afar. This is a famous ancient village with a history of nearly 2000 years. Facing the East China Sea, it looks like a half moon, so it has the nickname of "half moon sinking into the river".

Under the guidance of my friend Mr. Zhou, I walked into the ancient village, only to see that the cottage was not high and there was a square in front for citizens and tourists to relax. On the left of the square is the Confucius Temple, and on the right is the newly-built Buddhist holy land Xueyuan Temple and Dongshi Cultural Center. Climbing up the steps from the stone steps of the ancient village, I saw that the buildings in the ancient village were patchwork, and a stone tablet next to it recorded the origin of the ancient village. While walking, I listened to Teacher Zhou introduce the historical legends of ancient villages.

According to historical records, Dongshizhai was originally a Jiashe village in central Fujian during the Spring and Autumn Period. It was built in the first year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty and rebuilt in Song Taiping in six years. Covering an area of more than 30 mu, the wall is 2 feet high and 10 feet wide. There are circular arches in the northeast and northwest, and there are pheasant towers on the city village. The garrisons in past dynasties were called "South Gate" and "Jiang Fang Fortress". At the end of the Ming Dynasty, the national hero Zheng Chenggong personally led the rebel army to expel the Yi people of Dutch origin and recover Taiwan Province Province, where he camped and trained as a navy master, making him famous at home and abroad.

Dongshigu village is surrounded by mountains and seas. Shuicaotai site has a rectangular plane, which is the command platform for Zheng Chenggong's naval training. Covering an area of 1.300 square meters, surrounded by stone railings. There are still more than 30 meters of stone walls and two gates, namely "Shengli Gate" in the east and "Zhenhai Gate" in the west. It is said that the stone tablet was inscribed by Shilang and has been built and embedded in the original Shimen plaque.

There are several cliff carvings beside the platform, and the most conspicuous one is engraved with the words' Dan Xin'. It is said that in order to inspire soldiers, Zheng Chenggong wrote a book and ordered military craftsmen to carve it on huge rocks. The vigorous intaglio handwriting complements Zhu's disciple Song's "Ground Classic" horizontal plaque made during the Jinshi Zeng Shu years. There is Zheng Chenggong's poetry gallery in the stone gallery under the ancient village, and dozens of famous poems are appraised, which makes people deeply moved and revered.

Climbing to the top of the ancient village, the view is wide and the sea breeze is blowing gently, which makes people relaxed and imaginative. The towering and solid city walls can vaguely show the scene of war and smoke in ancient villages. Today, the ancient village is peaceful, with birds singing everywhere, beautiful scenery and endless tourists. Ancient villages have become an important historical evidence for patriotism education base, cross-strait cultural exchange and remembering the great achievements of martyrs.

Excellent Hayes traditional culture has been passed down from generation to generation, and it has inherited the fighting spirit of Minnan people who dare to fight and win. After the reform and opening up, Dongshi people took the lead in moving to the commercial sea, adapted to local conditions, boldly started businesses and made pioneering efforts, and gradually formed five pillar industries, including umbrella making, textile and clothing, hardware and auto parts, food industry and wood carving technology. At present, Dongshiren is the largest distribution center for the production and export of umbrella products and materials in Chinese mainland, and has the reputation of "China Umbrella Capital".
