First, the Guge dynasty was destroyed by the monk Gao Nanjie, the king of Ladakh, who lived with Guge in 1630. 2. The Guge Dynasty perished in the Douglas Dynasty of India in 1840. ?
Throughout the history of Tibet, these two wars did take place in Ali. Historically, it seems that the first case is more reliable. According to Yang Gong Su's Chronology of Ladakh, History of China's Struggle against Foreign Aggression and Interference in Tibet and Kyung-min Woo's History of Early Missionaries' Activities in Tibet, we can know that the last king of Guge and his family were dragged back to Ladakh capital by Ladakh people and put into prison.
More than 300 years ago, at the beginning of the17th century, King Ladakh took advantage of the chaos in Tibet to declare war on Guge, in retaliation for his insult to family honor, because King Guge had refused to marry his sister. The war lasted 15 years, and finally, the Guge dynasty was devastated. For more than 700 years, the Guge dynasty has not left its own history, and even the lineage of the king has not been completely clarified.
The most mysterious thing about the kingdom of Guge is how the kingdom with such a mature and splendid culture suddenly disappeared completely overnight. In the following centuries, human beings hardly knew its existence, and there was no human activity to destroy its buildings and streets, modify its writing and religion, and tamper with its murals and artistic style. It even retains the scene of destruction. The only thing I don't understand is how all this happened.
Guge Palace, built on the mountain, is the most defensive building in Tibet. There is only one tunnel leading to the mountain, and it is absolutely impossible to attack from here. Other places are cliffs. After the fighting lasted for a long time, Ladakh began to drive the Guge people to build a stone building halfway up the mountain. Their idea is that when the building is as high as the top of the mountain, they can finally win Guge.
