On September 1894 and 17, Beiyang Navy fought a decisive battle with the Japanese joint fleet in Dadonggou, East China Sea, and five ships, including Zhiyuan Ship, sank heroically. History is called "the Battle of the Yellow Sea". On August 1900, Eight-Nation Alliance invaded Beijing.
