Weichun is a traditional village type in China, which is surrounded by stone walls to defend against neighboring enemies, bandits and beasts. Common in southern Guangdong, especially in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Most people living in the village are families. Most of the walled villages are located in the New Territories. They were once the settlements of Deng, Hou Shi, Peng, Liao and Man, the "five major nationalities in the New Territories". In the urban area, only Yaqianwei Village in Wong Tai Sin is well preserved.
Distribution of surrounding villages: Jiqingwei
Jiqingwei is a well-known Guangfu village in Hong Kong. Located at the side of Jintian Road in Jintian, Yuen Long, it is called "Jintian Six Wai" together with Wing Lung Wai, Tai Hong Wai, South Wai, North Wai and San Wai. Qing Ji paddock is rectangular, covering an area of 45 mu (about 100 m long and 90 m wide). It is a typical enclosed building with neat and symmetrical design.
Deng, the distant ancestor of the Deng family, came to settle here as early as the Northern Song Dynasty. Later, Deng Bojing and two others lived in the villages around the building during Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty (1465- 1487).
Pinghu Lao Wei
Pinghu Lao Wei is located in Pinghu Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen. There are many old weirs in Pinghu. Among them, in Pinghu, Wuwuwei, Dawei and Songbaiwei are the earliest and most famous. Sanlaowei is located in Fenghuang Community and Pinghu Community of Pinghu Street. It was built in the middle and early Ming Dynasty, five or six hundred years ago.
Yaqianxu village
Yaqianwei Village is the last walled village in Hong Kong with a history of more than 600 years. It was built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
