This book tells the history of drug abuse and drug control in China society from Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty to the founding of New China for more than a century. This is a page of history that has been turned over, but there is no doubt that reopening and reading this page of history is still of great practical significance to people today. We can learn from the successful experience of predecessors in drug control, and we can also learn from the failed experience of drug control. We can further strengthen the determination of the whole society to resolutely crack down on the current spread of drug abuse and drug trafficking from the serious harm and destruction caused by opium poisoning in history.
This book discusses the spread of opium drugs during the historical period from the Opium War to the early days of the founding of New China, as well as the anti-smoking campaigns initiated by successive governments in China and their successes and failures.
