The story of Tang Priest's taking scriptures took place in the Tang Dynasty in China.

Xuanzang was born in Luozhou in 602. He was a famous monk in the Tang Dynasty. In order to explore the differences between different schools of Buddhism, Xuanzang traveled 50,000 miles to the west in the first year of Zhenguan, and went through hardships to the Nalanduo Temple in the center of Indian Buddhism to get the true scriptures. He studied various theories of Mahayana at that time for seventeen years.

When Xuanzang returned in 645 AD, he brought back a total of 50 relics/kloc-0, 7 Buddha statues and 657 Buddhist scriptures, and he has been engaged in the translation of Buddhist scriptures for a long time. Xuanzang and his disciples translated 75 classics.

His translated works include Mahabharata Sutra, Heart Sutra, Deep Understanding Sutra, Yoga Teacher's Theory of Land, Theory of Realizing Oneness and so on. The Book of the Western Regions of Datang 12 describes the mountains, rivers, cities, products, customs and customs of 1 10 countries and 28 rumored countries he personally experienced during his westward journey.

Extended data:

In 6 14 AD, Xuanzang was just 12 years old. That year was the time when Emperor Yang Di chose talents to become monks. On the day of the exam, Zheng, the examiner, saw Xuanzang, who was still young and not a monk, and asked him why he wanted to become a monk.

Xuanzang said something in my heart for a long time: I want to stay away from the Buddha, and I want to be close to the light. Zheng used to admire his appearance, but when this came out, he admired his words.

Xuanzang was also allowed to take the exam by exception, and was finally admitted by exception. Xuanzang learned from the Indian monk population that Nalantuo Temple had profound Buddhist attainments, so he decided to go to India to seek dharma from monks.

In 627 AD, Xuanzang applied to Emperor Taizong for customs clearance several times in order to travel westward, but all of them were rejected. Nevertheless, he made up his mind that he would rather die in the west than come back from the east.

At the age of 27, he finally had a chance to set foot on the road to the west. From then on, he began a journey to the west for more than ten years. Xuanzang studied Buddhism all his life and realized many Buddhist truths, such as omniscient.

He believes that all the external world is an imaginary image of people's inner consciousness, which is false and nonexistent in essence. There is another sentence in the Buddhist scriptures translated by Xuanzang: there is no difference between color and emptiness, and there is no difference between emptiness and color; Color is empty, and empty is color.

This sentence tells people that color is everything in the world, and emptiness is unrealistic, that is, the Buddha wants us to let go of our obsession with everything in the world and achieve nothing before we can become a Buddha.
