The year of Bian Que's birth and death recorded in later history books is not necessarily true, otherwise he may be a long-lived old man in his fifties, which is unimaginable in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period when his average life expectancy is less than 50 years. When compiling teaching materials, besides the moral education function of historical stories, the authenticity of historical stories should be considered first. If you can't even determine the historical truth, how can you respect your predecessors?
Introduction to Bian Que:
Bian Que once lived in Brewmaster Cave (also known as Qin Yueren Cave) in Pengque Mountain, Zhong Qiu. He learned from Chang Sangjun, taught all the medical skills, drank the water from the "upper pool" (stone basin) on the top of the mountain, and achieved superb medical skills. On the fifth day of Zhao Jianzi's first reign, Zhao Jianzi gave Bian Que Pengque Mountain 40,000 mu of farmland, which was a land of food cities.
Coincidentally, on the top of Pengque Mountain above the cave in Bian Que, there are also images of natural stone magpies flying and magical stone men looking at the world. Zhao people regard it as an auspicious magpie, but respectfully call it "Bian Que", that is, "named after Zhao".
Later, when Bian Que arrived in the State of Guo, he skillfully cured the prince of Guo's "corpse syncope" and brought him back to life. Prince Guo took medicine, reluctantly abandoned the country and came to Prince Rock in Pengque Mountain. In Xianyang, he was killed by Li Yi, the doctor of Qin. Zhao people from Pengque Mountain traveled thousands of miles, returned from Xianyang and were buried at the foot of the mountain. They merged Jiaozi Village and Langjiazhuang into one and renamed it "Shentou Village". Since then, they have built temples and shrines for generations to worship.
