The Historical Evolution of Shuangmei Bridge
"There is a bridge at the intersection of Lantian Street and Xincheng, called Shuangmei Bridge, which was built by Chen Zhong, then governor of Hongwu period in Ming Dynasty." Liang Zhijun, an 8 1 year-old man who studies Xiaolan local chronicles, said when telling the history of Shuangmei Bridge, "It turned out that Shuangmei Bridge was a wooden bridge, and later it was converted into a stone bridge."

According to Liang Zhijun, Xiaolan had lived in this village for about 200 years during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, Xiaolan people mainly lived in Dalan (now the south of Xiaolan) and Xiaolan (now the new city of Xiaolan Jiaokou). There is a big river between Dalan and Xiaolan, so people have to make a transition. With more people coming and going, bridges can naturally be built, which explains the age of Lantian Street on the other hand. "Lantian Street has a history of 500 years since Shuangmei Bridge was built in Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty," Liang Zhijun said. "This is an authentic old street!"
