What does "Yin Ruins" mean in history?
Yin Ruins is the former site of the capital of Shang Dynasty. Yin Ruins is located around Xiaotun Village, Yindu District, Anyang City, Henan Province. Its geographical coordinates are11418' 50 "e, 36 07' 36" N, with an altitude of about 80m, a length of 6km, a width of 6km and a total area of about 36km2. The core area of the heritage reserve is 4 14 hectares.

Yin Ruins, known as "Northern Mongolia" in ancient times and "Shang Yi" and "Da Yi Shang" in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, are the first capital ruins recorded and confirmed by archaeology and Oracle Bone Inscriptions in the history of China. They are located in Xiaotun Village, Yindu District, northwest of Anyang City, Henan Province. They are composed of tombs of Yin ruins, palaces and temples of Yin ruins and shopping malls around the north.

Since the scientific excavation in 1928, a large number of architectural sites of the capital city and rich cultural remains such as Oracle Bone Inscriptions and bronzes have been unearthed in Yin Ruins, which systematically demonstrated the splendid bronze civilization in the late Shang Dynasty in China and established the scientific status of Yin Shang society as a history of trust. It was rated as the first "100 major archaeological discovery" in China in the 20th century, and it is a national AAAAA-level scenic spot.
