What is Ziegler-Natta initiator? What parts does it consist of? What is its function?
The two components of Ziegler-Natta initiator are initially trichloro or titanium tetrachloride and trialkylaluminum. The former is a cationic initiator and the latter is an anionic initiator, so it is difficult to initiate olefin polymerization when used alone. The results show that the two compounds can generate unstable alkyl titanium through alkylation reaction, and the alkyl titanium can be homogenized to generate free radical initiated polymerization.
