Xinyang is one of the most important birthplaces of Chinese civilization. As early as 8,000 years ago, primitive agriculture appeared on both sides of Huaihe River in China. In the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty, it was renamed Xinyang House, which has been in use ever since. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xinyang's economy and culture were already quite superior, with abundant food, prosperous business, numerous celebrities, rich cultural background and numerous scholars.
Xinyang has a long history and outstanding people. Many China surnames come from this. Xinyang has nurtured many historical celebrities: Sun Shuai and a famous king, a great historian Wang, a scholar in the Central Plains and a literary leader Ma Zuchang.
