1, geographical environment

Hainan Island is flat around and towering in the middle, with Wuzhishan and Ying Ge Ridge as the uplift core and gradually descending to the periphery. Mountains, hills, terraces and plains form a circular layered landform with obvious cascade structure.

Most of the mountains in Hainan Island are between 500 meters and 800 meters, which are actually hills and low mountains. There are 8 peaks 1000 meters above sea level, which have become long undulating walls on low hills. The peaks above1500m are Wuzhishan, Ying Ge Mountain, Ozone Mountain, Monkey Mountain, Yajialing Mountain and Diaoluo Mountain.

2. History and culture

According to the records in Zheng Deqiong's Records of Taiwan in Ming Dynasty, Hainan Island was called "Southern Service and Waste Payment" in Tang and Yu Dynasties, and "Outside the County" in Qin Dynasty. This shows that Hainan Island was a remote border of the motherland at that time. Hainan Island is one of the four exile places, mainly in Asia, located at the southernmost tip of China.

3. Local conditions and customs

On the 15th night of the first lunar month, the annual Fucheng Lantern Festival will be held in Fucheng, qiongshan district, Haikou, Hainan.

Every year from February 9 to 19, Xinpo Town, Longhua District, Haikou City and many places in the province will hold a four-day Xianfu Cultural Festival (formerly known as Junpo Festival). This is a folk commemoration in memory of Mrs. Xian.

The third day of the third lunar month is a traditional festival for young Li Men and women to pursue love and happiness. Both Li and Miao people in Hainan have the custom of celebrating "March 3rd".
