Compared with the original Rubik's cube, the special-shaped Rubik's cube has changed a lot, but the principle is basically the same. Novices are usually frightened by their strange appearance. In fact, they can generally be regarded as ordinary second-order or third-order Rubik's Cube. For example, diamond cube, six-color cube, pyramid cube, zongzi cube, snake cube and so on.

Generally, Rubik's cube can be classified in two ways: one is by shape, and the other is by structure:

First, according to the shape of the Rubik's cube, it can be divided into 10 categories:

1, regular tetrahedron: regular tetrahedron (pyramid) Rubik's cube concourse

2. Regular hexahedron

3. Regular octahedron: Octahedral Rubik's Cube concourse

4. Regular dodecahedron

5, rhombic dodecahedron

6. Tetrahedron

7. icosahedron

8. Spherical body

9. Cylinder

10, star

Second, according to the structure of the Rubik's cube, it can be divided into six categories:

1, bipolar class 2, four-axis class 3, six-axis class 4, eight-axis class 5, twelve-axis class 6, multi-axis class and mixed-axis class.

The Rubik's Cube consists of multiple rotating surfaces, each rotating surface rotates around a central point, and the so-called axis is perpendicular to the central point. All the axes intersect at a point called the core, which is the core block of the Rubik's Cube. I think it is more scientific to classify by structure, because their structures are all similar and their solutions are the same.

Third, in addition, the shapes of some Rubik's cubes will change constantly during the rotation, which can be divided into two categories:

1, traditional class: refers to the Rubik's cube whose appearance and shape remain unchanged during the rotation process, such as the common second-order, third-order and fourth-order hexahedral Rubik's cube.

2. Deformation: The shape of the Rubik's Cube will change constantly during the rotation, such as the common SQ 1 Rubik's Cube, the second-order pyramid Rubik's Cube, and the second-order cartoon Rubik's Cube.
