Wula (Manchu, Mulinde: Wula) is one of the Jurchen clan tribes, named after living on the Songhua River (now Longtan District, Jilin City, Jilin Province). Wula means "Jiang" in Manchu. At the end of the Ming dynasty, it was very prosperous, and there was a saying that "there was Wula first, then Jilin".
At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Wula belonged to one of the four departments of Haixi, and was controlled by the Wulana family, which was the same clan as Hada. Wula had many frictions with the Nurhachi forces that later rose in Jianzhou. In the Battle of Guleshan, Wula was one of the main forces of the nine-nation allied forces.
