Yuan has been active in Henan since the end of the Spring and Autumn Period.
In the early days, the Yuan family mainly developed and multiplied in Henan, its birthplace, and the development center was Chenjun, especially in Runan, Qin and Han Dynasties.
In the Han Dynasty, a surname centered on Runan Ruyang (now Runan, Henan) was formed.
Four generations from Yuan 'an to Yuan 'an have achieved such high positions as Qiu, Situ and so on.
If the Yuan family in Runan shone brilliantly in the Eastern Han Dynasty, prospering for more than a hundred years, and staged a historical tragicomedy from prosperity to decline, then during the hundreds of years from Cao Wei to Sui and Tang Dynasties, the protagonist of Yuan was Chen Jun (then changed to Chen Jun), and then the Yuan family had a glorious history, which had a far-reaching impact on the development of Yuan.
Chen Jun's Yuan family began with Gan Yuan as Stuart in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and talented people came forth in large numbers from Cao Wei, Jin Dynasty to Sui and Tang Dynasties. Their descendants have held important positions for 13 generations, and have been active in politics for nearly 600 years, with outstanding power.
Due to the war, official relocation and other reasons, Chen and Ru Nanyuan also derived many branches. For example, one of the descendants of Gan Yuan moved to Pengcheng (now Xuzhou, Jiangsu) and one moved to Hedong (now southwest of Yongji, Shanxi); One of Yuan Shao's descendants, moved to Dongling Dongguang (now Hebei); Yuan Shu's descendants are scattered between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River, and one of them lives in Xiangyang. One of Yuan Huan's descendants moved to Jingzhao (now Xi 'an, Shaanxi) and one moved to Huayin.
Yuan's ancestral home is Huaiyang, Henan Province. By the time of the Western Han Dynasty, his descendants had been officials for generations and became prominent local families. Yang Xia is Yuan's ancestral home, belonging to the Jin Dynasty, so the county is Yuan's favorite.
Since then, Yuan's family, who migrated all over the country, was mostly a branch, and all thought it was the name of Tang. By the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Yuan family who moved to Runan had developed into a prominent local family.
From Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui and Tang Dynasties, Yuan descendants formed many branches for reasons such as official career and refuge. After continuous reproduction and development, it became a prominent family at that time, forming Pengcheng, Jingzhao, Dongguang, Taiyuan, Huayin, Xiangyang, Puyang and Yichun counties.
