Nanjing was first called "Yecheng", but at that time Nanjing was only a small slope. Because it is used for smelting, Fuxi named it "Yecheng", which is also the earliest name that Nanjing can mention. When Nanjing was barely a city, its name changed and it was called "Yuecheng". When the State of Chu occupied Nanjing, Nanjing also had a nice name "Jinling", but in the Qin Dynasty, it was suggested that the name "Jinling" was not good for Qin Shihuang. When the first emperor heard this, it didn't work. He renamed Jinling, which had just become a household name, as Moling, and later it was called Qinhuai because of Huaishui.
There are some interesting stories behind the name Jianye in Nanjing. At that time, Sun Quan lived in Nanjing, that is, "Moling". Sun Quan thinks that the word "Moling" is not good, which is not conducive to his reunification of the country. Therefore, he changed "Moling" into "Jianye" with ideals, and later thought that "Jianye" needed a good name to support it, so it became a "stone city". Later, Nanjing was renamed Moling, Jinling, jiangning house and Jiankang many times.
In addition to these names, there are other names in the history of Nanjing: Jiangzhou, Yangzhou, Danyang County, Shengzhou, Shangyuan County, Jiankangfu, Jiankang Road, Qing Ji Road, Yingtianfu, Shi Jing, Tianjing and Capital City.
