Cao Cao was still unconvinced and burned all the medical books of Hua Tuo. Hua Tuo is good at acupuncture therapy and surgery, and he also invented an anesthetic called Mafeisan. And Hua tuo is the first doctor in the world to perform surgery under general anesthesia!

Li Shizhen was a great doctor and pharmacologist in Ming Dynasty. Li Shizhen wrote a book, which is well known to all women and children, namely Compendium of Materia Medica. This book records 1892 drugs and 1000 prescriptions, summarizing China's drug treatment experience for thousands of years, so Compendium of Materia Medica is simply a summary of Chinese medicine for thousands of years.
